2011 citadel 5.7, Full coolant, idle temp jumps to 235+
I don't hear the fans coming on at all, and even though I have the heat on, I hear the a/c compressor cycle on and off. Once I start to move (even less than 30mph), the temp goes down to 195ish within 30 seconds. I'll check the relay and the fuse tomorrow, any other ideas?
Water pump, t-stat, fan harness replaced 2 years ago

SD:
What year, model, engine, and how many miles on your Durango? Has the cooling system been serviced, if so, recently?
Give us something to work with please?

Don

Now:
That's what I call an update! 😂
Do the radiator cooling fan(s) come on if you turn on the AC? If not, they should. While I agree that the AC compressor should not run in modes other than AC or Defrost, Dodge probably has a different view.
With the engine temp dropping quickly once you are on the move, the cooling system itself is working. My guess is that your fan motor, control wiring, or controller are on the fritz

Maybe time for a new fan. Another poster not long ago had sone kind of short in the fan wires. It should come on idling somewhere in the low 200s.

I wouldn't let it get to that temp again. You're risking very serious damage.

Gracias
