Installed a Volant CAI and noticed that the air duck opening under hood is just behind the weather stripping. Did anyone cut this to not block air from coming in or is this something that is left alone?

I don't know about the Volant but most CAIs have you loosen the seal a few inches left and right of where it went over the old air intake and then slip the new intake under the seal and reattach the seal.
There is a "Christmas tree" fastener holding the seal. Pull the seal and fastener up and out of the hole and insert into the hole in the top of the Volant air duct opening. You may need to drill a new hole in the top of the duct opening if it doesn't quite line up. The hole lined up in my 2014 DD, I had to drill a new hole about 1/2" away on my 2021 DD.
Thank you, I did this prior. I have a citadel with the performance hood and my hood, itself, has a seal all the way down the nose. Didn't think about the existing seal on the body.
I just cut the hood seal to before the CAI.
Thank you again, I don't know why I didn't notice it in the first place lol
