After doing all the work of porting and polishing my TB, and the gains I noticed, I'm going to take it off and put a stocker back on.

There's one problem that I experienced this weekend since I did the work on it?It's now so touchy and responsive at tip-in that when I had the cruise set at 58-60 MPH, it was constantly surging and hunting in and out of lockup. It's because the throttle is now open considerably less to go that speed that it's right on that fine line between lockup and closed throttle (release) values on the TPS. I could probably tweak the TPS to get it to stop doing this, but I kind of liked the feeling it had before, with less of the "instant" pull that it has now. It's more difficult to take off smoothly from a stoplight now, as it's so responsive right off idle.

I'll probably eBay this one unless I just keep it around for a conversation piece, or whatnot.

Oh well?I got a used TB for $60 from my local salvage yard, so it wasn't too big a deal.

Live and learn.

I'd give Dan aka The Fastman a call for his expertise. Perhaps he can give you a couple of ideas on how to have your cake and get to eat it too? keep the drivability and the performace gain.

Good luck.

Definitely has a 4.7 and Mike I didn't develop any problems like that maybe something isn't right with the TPS

Hey, we could hook 'em up and pull 'em off. Like the vid that was posted a week or so ago.

Lets see, Indy's 5.9L FT4x4 with the towing package vs FSTDANGOs 4.7 PT4x4. Bet I win :cheesy: Can I use 4L to pull your rearend right off? :bugeyed:

We're all family, even the baby D's with the 4.7s. Maybe 4.7s are premmie 5.9s that DC just birthed a little early.

Just Kiddin'!

I probably won't eBay or toss this TB yet, but for now the stocker is going to go back on till I get some more time to mess with this one. That's going to be even further away since I'm joining a gym tomorrow. Gotta keep my girlish figure in check. That'll take up the evenings that I did have free. All I'll have is Sunday afternoons to play around with things, and that's usually my catch up on sleep while I'm watching the races time.

Most likely you can fix this by adjusting your cable. I unexpectedly had to replace the motor in my D. (One of the downfalls of buying a repo at auction.) After putting the new motor in, I had the same problem. You want just a little bow in the cable. If it's too tight or loose it'll act like you describe.

I KNEW IT  Mike must be short for Michelle. I have never met a guy so opinionated and I couldn't figure it out. Now it all makes sence :!:

Hey now? When I'm all ripped and buff looking like Ahhnold, you'll regret calling me that!

Don't feel bad Mike; last night I had to break down and let the wife buy an elliptical rider from LifeFitness?more mod down the drain! Aaargghh!

Oh well, guess I'll just have to content myself with this new cam sitting in my garage.
