After doing all the work of porting and polishing my TB, and the gains I noticed, I'm going to take it off and put a stocker back on.
There's one problem that I experienced this weekend since I did the work on it?It's now so touchy and responsive at tip-in that when I had the cruise set at 58-60 MPH, it was constantly surging and hunting in and out of lockup. It's because the throttle is now open considerably less to go that speed that it's right on that fine line between lockup and closed throttle (release) values on the TPS. I could probably tweak the TPS to get it to stop doing this, but I kind of liked the feeling it had before, with less of the "instant" pull that it has now. It's more difficult to take off smoothly from a stoplight now, as it's so responsive right off idle.
I'll probably eBay this one unless I just keep it around for a conversation piece, or whatnot.
Oh well?I got a used TB for $60 from my local salvage yard, so it wasn't too big a deal.
Live and learn.
