So I've seen many posts about plastidipping the grill on Gen3 DD's and I apologize if my info is duplicated. Thought it may help someone though.
I only partially disconnected the grille assembly at the top portion and then using a couple vinyl panel tools, separated the outer shell from the honeycomb. This allowed me to get behind it for masking and also propping it out just enough to reveal unobstructed edges. This eliminates the tight areas around the headlights especially.
My photos should speak for themselves in the explanation but if you have question, just ask. This is my second 3rd Gen DD so I've done this a couple times and this time around turned out very clean!
I ended up laying down about 4-5 coats of base black, followed by a couple coats of obsidian pearl, finish with a couple coats of glossifier.
Did my emblems too...

Great tip! That would have saved me a bunch of time peeling small areas after I dipped mine.

My only question is about removing your masking. I have heard you have to remove before its try because otherwise it could cause the dip to peel when its pulled. did you remove yours before or after?

It is a good idea to remove your masking as soon as you can but in the case of my grill, it didn't really matter because no part of what I was painting had any contact with an part of the masking. When painting the emblems, always leave about an inch border so that removing your masking won't affect the dip surrounding your lettering or emblems. That way you can do your detailed removal around the edges at your pace.

year later still looks great no peeling

I'm a big fan of that MOPAR emblem!

Do you have pics of how you taped off the "DODGE" on the rear lights? I'm going to try and do that this weekend.
