Pin-sized leak in coolant line

I have a 2011 Durango Crew. Right at a bend, I have a pin-sized hole in a coolant line near the rear heater core. I've been researching how to "fix" this. Since my Durango is, a work truck now and rarely has passengers. I would couple the lines together before the leak and the core, fixing the leak and deleting my rear heat.

Or...

My buddy said he could slip a rubber hose over the affected area and use hose clamps to seal the leak. Both sound feasible, but not only do I know the measurements of the lines, but I'm also not sure if it's the inlet or outlet line leaking.

If anyone has any suggestions for fixing this without replacing the entire line, that would be awesome. If the solutions I posted above are reasonable, and someone has measurements, I would HUGELY appreciate that. I found this site (2011-2013 Dodge Durango Heater Core Tube 68103035AA | DodgeParts.com), but it doesn't have any sizes of the inlet/outlet lines.

Thank you!

Hi Jonathan:
If you don't mind giving up the rear heat, you can bypass the rear core with a piece of heater hose under the hood. The rear heat in my '04 does not work due to a bad or damaged blend door. I find that the front heat does a good enough job. Thankfully, the rear AC still functions when needed. A common size for heater hose is 5/8ths of an inch. You might start there.
