Ordered 2018 RT - status changes from D1 back to D

Ordered my RT on 10/2. Last week I was given an estimated ship date of 10/25 and that it was in D1 status.

Over the last few days nobody had a clue about the ship date. Today the chat rep says if went from D1 back to D. Does anyone have a clue at dodge? What is going on?

Yeah, I can see the frustration. I ordered 10/4, was given a shipping date of 10/27 and never a peep in between from my dealer. The online tracker site has never worked for me. Dealer says it is in D1 as of today and has been since 10/16. I was originally told 4-6 weeks :)

Got a call from Sandra after having it out with a live chat rep. She apologized many times and was very nice. Said build SHOULD start Monday 11/6 and would keep me updated. Ugh...

Was your on hold for something? Parts? Order Issues?

I am now at 13 weeks as I order August 2nd and still just sitting in "C" status as of today with no VIN number yet either. The FCA dealer rep wont tell the dealer or me why my order is taking so long while other's were/are being built within weeks of ordering. Shortest I read on the forum was I believe 15 days from ordering to delivered to the dealer!

I've tried calling Customer Service directly, and they made a Case # to look into it but said it probably wont help. I also can't call in to ask about my vehicle directly as I'm in Canada and as soon as I say that or they look up my VON they say they can't/wont help me.

Seems like my build is on schedule if you look at the big picture....I just don’t know what cause it to bounce back and forth from D to D1. On top of that the disconnect in chat reps is my main complaint with them.

Maybe they don’t have parts? The hood? Seems like to RT’s or SRT’s are really moving if the went D1 in the last couple weeks.

That’s great news but I wouldn’t get too excited....one lesson I’ve learned in the last month is that they have no idea what is going on. None. Zero. Totally clueless. Until you get a call that’s it’s at the dealer I’d remain skeptical. Very skeptical.

I’ve been given 5 different dates of being D1. Nothing tells me I won’t be waiting 13 weeks either. At that point I am going to cancel my order. They can have my deposit. F them. I’ll buy something else. It’s a nice vehicle but at the end of the day is just a car.

just noticed an R/T tracked over on JG flew from ordered 10/27, D1 saturday 11/4 into framing sunday 11/5.. tho still doesn't have an estimated ship date tho, which is strange..

But least something moved..

D1-to-D Regress is common and noted on the build sheets. I think it happens when they run out of parts- if I had to hazard a guess, they ran out of stitched dashes. D1-to-D Regress happened on my '15 Scat Pack Charger. Took 8 weeks to get my Charger, but only 4 weeks for the Durango.

Dodge Chat is hit or miss. The most reliable info comes from the dealer computer system or jeepgarage. I used jeepgarage with my Durango and Charger.

Patience, my friend. Hopefully it will be built today and KZ status tomorrow. The good news is that you're in Baltimore, and your truck won't take long to get to you once shipped. Just be glad you're not in California, Alaska, or Hawaii.

He's been told more than once to be patient. Ordered on 10/12 and for the last 2 weeks has been complaining about lack of progress. Calling or chatting with CS reps every day will get you no where. I would much rather prefer they take their time building the truck I want than have them rush it only to experience build/quality issues later on. But, that's just me.

Spent 45 minutes on the phone with customer service today. Nobody knows “Sandra”. Spoke with another lady, Casey, who was very nice. It appears that the last 8 of my VIN match the last 8 of a VIN on a 1988 Dodge vehicle. W...t...f...?!?!?!? It’s causing mass confusion. Now another manager, Suzanne, is set to call me today. I’ve also reached out to my dealer to call someone who can do something.

About to explode...

Good that Tim is being made aware that the order/status process is effed.

I don't think he actually pushed your order out, though, because framing and paint takes a chunk of hours. But the behavior I see in tracking (as an outside observer) seems a bit strange these days..

I know when we were last at the plant (when was that? 2014?) they were adamant that the goal was 4 weeks from customer order to ship.. for every customer order.. with dealer/inventory orders a lower priority...

I signed up on the Jeep Garage site and have been following my Durango. Stuck in Nebraska for a couple days. Doh! Awesome tracker.

My D was unloaded off the train Thursday at 514pm. The rail yard is 30 minutes from the dealer. My dealer “hot tagged” it but still hasn’t seen it. They also don’t know when it will arrive. It “usually doesn’t take this long” according to them.

We ordered our Dodge Durango R/T on 11/7/2017. Per this forum, I reached out to Dodge Chat and found this out about ours:

I am showing your vehicle has been built and is in the stage prior to being released by the plant. Your Vehicle may have been selected for additional quality inspections or held for delivery purposes. Currently no Dealer ETA has been provided.

There is one more stage following this one and that is the shipping stage. I asked how long in these 2 stages and she said it could take an additional 2 weeks! :) Hope this helps some of you!!!
