Hello, everyone. I’m reaching out to ask for your expertise. I’ve noticed an orange oil leak underneath my car, and I would greatly appreciate any insights on where this might be coming from. Your guidance could help me address the issue effectively! Thank you!

Durango SRT 2022 10560 miles.

The coolant is purple or pink, the transmission fluid is greenish. I vote for coolant.

Welcome to DDN. You had your '22 SRT serviced at a dealer correct? I'd be back there asking politely but firmly for an explanation. Are you still within the 3 year bumper to bumper warranty I hope?

What was the reason you dislike the dealer that did the work before discovering these things?

The wire is a chassis ground but it doesn't look like it was recently attached. We can't help you with the reservoir but that may be where the coolant is from.

Subject: Follow-Up on Durango Warranty and Lemon Law Inquiry

Hi Don Fox,

Thank you for your response.

Yes, the car is under warranty, and we also purchased additional bumper-to-bumper coverage. The Durango had a long block replaced at 7,000 miles due to significant debris inside the cylinders, which resulted in a broken piston. I will attach the invoice detailing the work done on the engine.

We attempted to apply for the Lemon Law, but our lawyer informed us that we were unlikely to win the case since we were from New York. He advised us to accept a settlement of $19000 and move on.

I disliked the first service shop because they held my car for over four months, constantly making excuses for the delays. After finally getting my car back, I decided never to return to them. Now, a new service shop is unwilling to work on my vehicle. I told them I wouldn’t leave until they explained why my oil leaked. They left my car in the parking lot for five days and informed me that the oil filter was hanging off. I asked them how much oil I had lost and why it was in that condition. They responded that I didn't need to worry because I hadn’t lost much oil and that the oil filter was not tight enough.

Find a place for the chassis ground on the block.

Thank you for your help, that was clear. I’ve already figured out how to handle it. However, I would like to understand the potential damage that could occur if the overflow line were to melt like that. Is it possible for the engine to cause the melting, or could someone have done that intentionally?

Wow:
Such a troubled life on quite a young vehicle. Since it is still under full warranty, I can't see why/how they can refuse to work on it. No wonder Dodge/Stellantis' reputation is headed down the toilet.

Have you engaged Dodge customer service at the corporate level? I would contact the SRT folks and enlighten them to your situation, which they ought to be ashamed of.

I can't make out where it "melted," but the engine wouldn't have done that.

Google is your friend.
Be aware that once you lawyer up, they will be harder to work with, and it will be your lawyer talking to their team of lawyers.

Re your pic, I don't see anything melted or damaged. The overflow tank does have a pressure relief that will allow excess pressure to vent as needed.

One has to wonder if the dealer who did the engine swap got screwed by Stellantis, as that could explain (but not justify) them brushing you off. The two words honor and accountability are becoming like hens teeth these days.

I must ask why you would consent to them replacing the air filter, especially for $$100+, on a vehicle with such low mileage? That was a 100% cash grab/screwing they gave you.

Remember that YOU get to authorize (or not) what work is done to your vehicle. If they inferred that your warranty would be affected if it was not replaced, they are lying scumbags!

I implore everyone who pays for a mopar branded part to check what you are getting. BProAuto seems to be what dealers are using in place of mopar stuff.
this is what my Jeep dealer did to my wife's jeep. Dealer put a mopar part number on the invoice yet put a cheap ass chinese filter (BproAuto) in it.

That is a strange situation for sure. Since you bought it new and drove it for a good while, it obviously came off of the assembly line correctly assembled. I just have to think that whatever happened came about when the new engine was being installed.

I can see what you mean about how it appears to be melted or otherwise closed off. This whole thing is just wrong on so many levels.

Re NYC and it's surroundings, I call them places I might visit, but you won't catch me living in a place that expensive.

Looking further the o-ring is inside that connector not on the line it connects to.
Dorman makes replacement connectors but not for Dodge. I would give them a call though to double check.

That is the type of connector you need but I can't find just the connector anywhere but Dorman may help you.
Otherwise you need this part # 68563443AA which is the whole thing
