Hi people, unfortunately my wife had an accident with our 2016 RT, it was equipped with tech package, trailer package without brake control, it also has HID headlights. it was black in color and I added the performance hood and flat black stripe kit, State Farm said it has 24k in damages and called it a total loss, and is insulting us on replacement offer. they are using a base RT as an offer, not taking any consideration of added options, color. does anybody know option codes for the tech , trailer, and HID headlights, and maybe the cost of these packages, so I can fight these peckerheads.

thanx in advance for any input received.

Welcome to DDN. Sorry to hear about the crash. It sounds like the D did it's job which is to protect the precious folks inside. I assume that SF is your insurance company. Keep in mind that even though you pay them, they are not in your corner! It's the adjuster's job to whittle/slice away on every point they can to get you out of their hair for as little as possible!

I have problems with SF to begin with. Folks I know (myself included) have had horrible service from them. Keep in mind this is a negotiation, and you don't want to accept their 1st, 2nd, or possibly even their 3rd offer unless it's what you want.

Covid screwed up the labor force as well as parts supply chains. In their view, they would rather total a car than repair it and be on the hook for the possibility of further claims on it. Then, there is the expense of a rental assuming you have that coverage while it would be repaired.

Know that you will have to push back and argue that they need to put a like vehicle back into your driveway! Do keep in mind that your D is 8 years old, so a new(er) version similarly equipped would require you to throw some bucks in to the pot.

Get a lawyer! SF sucks! We were rear-ended in our 16 DRT and it received minimal damage, compared to the Ford Ranger that hit us! [Totaled] SF fixed our DRT right away but quit paying my doctor and hospital bills and stuck me with $25000! After I was sued for the bills, my insurance co. picked up the tab and would have if I told them sooner!

You need comp sales such as what you could easily find on Carvana. KBB or Nada will also help you. Whatever add-ons you put on the vehicle are worthless so don't try to add for those. Mileage is the biggest kicker. Mine books out at $17900 at 125K and with all options less the roof rack. This same car would be about $21000 on Carvana.

Build it out in KBB.com. Go for the private sale price. That's probably the best you're going to get. What are they actually offering you?

They offered 19K which is price for base RT, my wife likes the blind spot monitor, and adaptive cruise in tech pkg. and i need the tow package. plus I added dodge performance exhaust that was $1600 and I put it on, boy did that make sound good. I can't believe I never took pictures of it, but I never thought it was going anywhere.

IMO:
Cases like this are usually a sh+t show. Here in Ohio anyway, apparently you can't sue your own insurance unless you can prove they are not honoring the contract, which can be expensive and drawn out.

For most folks, they have deeper pockets and lawyers at the ready to do their skullduggery!

You can get the equipment list with any source for the window sticker.
