Re: Several-piece headlights?

Indy, my lights arrived yesterday and all looked good till I got them open and found not two one-piece headlights, but two several-piece headlights. The sharp corners of both lights at the base of the turn signal were broken off and the plastic frame that includes the pegs to which the rubber molding attaches was also broken on one light. Looking at the inner boxes, I can see where the sharp edges had cut through the cardboard, so they weren't as protected as probably necessary.
What to do?

The packing is tight but slight, I agree. I requested they all go out in oversized boxes for extra protection and that's how mine arrived, in an extra box.
Two options, report it to FedEx for a protection measure. That way in the worst case senario, everyone is pretected from the shipping damage. Since that doesn't get you new lights, I'll get in touch with the warehouse and work towards getting them replaced. I have to contact them on a missing 3rd light and another set with corners off too (sent to me via PM.)
On a related topic, some have used trim to seal out the look of the outer edges of the light. That prevents anyone from knowing the small corner isn't a point. I'm not saying to do that, just that it's an option.
You're on my list, hang in there. I'll get it taken care of.
The lights ship with a default "disclaimer" as I mentioned earlier about For Off Road Use Only and the text says something about Non-DOT. However, you
will see molded into the lower edge of the lenses the DOT and SAE stamps/info.
Also, here's a photo of how the lights were supposed to arrive. Each light is in it's own box, then they're in a larger sell box and then that box is in an even larger shipping box. How that box is handled by the shipping company is anyone's guess.

(Edit was to put back in the link the photo of the boxes. It was missing today for some reason. Objectionable materials? Only if yours was one with parts broken inside I'd say

? so I have no idea why the photo was removed previously)
