Info coming very soon ;)

Items to be drop shipped directly from my distributor in California and available in Chrome, Black or Titanium Accents.

On all/any overseas sales, I'll ship it myself to make sure they go out correctly.

Got my 3rd brake light today! UPS guy showed up while my wife was sitting in her Escalade listening to music before going in the house. He delivered it to her in the truck? if only he had waited 10 more minutes! Now I'm in the dog house for Christmas. Oh, well, small price to pay. Thanks, Indy! Can't wait to install it.

#154 ·
Odd that Hawaii got theirs before I got mine in Michigan. But you gotta understand, it's Christmas time and I didn't really expect mine till after the holidays. From what I've heard and stuff, Indy won't do ya wrong and you guys will get them. I'm just pissed that it rained all day and I couldn't install my headlights. Grrrr! :furious:

Does do a lot better job lighting up my street at night, Thanks Indy.

Dizzy, looks great! Anyone with a bit of familiarity with a wrench should have zero issues installing like you did. I really like the clear chrome over the clear whites you had.

Dwayne, yours was box #1 that left the warehouse so I know it's on the way. You were the East coaster I referred to earlier in the week.

I was told that the last two orders left the warehouse today.

Robert Patterson (edited form ViperBob, I was mistaken), since I'm a Robert and you're a Robert? seems you moved to my house. I got mine box and your box today. Additionally funny, mine had a sticker on it since I was indicated as the shipper and the recipient, FedEx thought I had made an error. Isn't FedEx grand. I'll dig out your correct ship to address and get them reshipped to you.

85burbanator, I'm not going to steer you wrong. It's my reputation afterall. I can trash it all on my own :)

Zeph, so you should have got the set then :)

FYI, the stickers on your boxes should say RMJ Futures, Inc. That's my Sub Chapter-S Corporation so yea, that's me. The sticker tape on the boxes say OptionGroup Racing and that's the distributor/importer.

Anyone I missed, sorry.

Several-piece headlights?

Indy, my lights arrived yesterday and all looked good till I got them open and found not two one-piece headlights, but two several-piece headlights. The sharp corners of both lights at the base of the turn signal were broken off and the plastic frame that includes the pegs to which the rubber molding attaches was also broken on one light. Looking at the inner boxes, I can see where the sharp edges had cut through the cardboard, so they weren't as protected as probably necessary.

What to do?

The packing is tight but slight, I agree. I requested they all go out in oversized boxes for extra protection and that's how mine arrived, in an extra box.

Two options, report it to FedEx for a protection measure. That way in the worst case senario, everyone is pretected from the shipping damage. Since that doesn't get you new lights, I'll get in touch with the warehouse and work towards getting them replaced. I have to contact them on a missing 3rd light and another set with corners off too (sent to me via PM.)

On a related topic, some have used trim to seal out the look of the outer edges of the light. That prevents anyone from knowing the small corner isn't a point. I'm not saying to do that, just that it's an option.

You're on my list, hang in there. I'll get it taken care of.

The lights ship with a default "disclaimer" as I mentioned earlier about For Off Road Use Only and the text says something about Non-DOT. However, you will see molded into the lower edge of the lenses the DOT and SAE stamps/info.

Also, here's a photo of how the lights were supposed to arrive. Each light is in it's own box, then they're in a larger sell box and then that box is in an even larger shipping box. How that box is handled by the shipping company is anyone's guess.

(Edit was to put back in the link the photo of the boxes. It was missing today for some reason. Objectionable materials? Only if yours was one with parts broken inside I'd say :)? so I have no idea why the photo was removed previously)

WOW!!

I received a rude knock at the door (while napping) and suddenly heard a truck pull off. It was FedEx with Christmas presents for me from me. Thanks Indy. Now please Indy, please stop modding my D for a few months. You're killing me! Especially since it might be leaving us. A guy offered me $25,00 the way it sits and I told him show me the money.
Rick my guess is you should give Indy a kiss!!
Take the 25G and start over.

Indy, great job! This is going well.

But! I didn't get mine for Christmas (tears rolling down from face) :(
LOL

Indy,
My lights were only double boxed. Each light was in its own box and these two boxes were in a second box (the middle box in you photo.) Maybe that's why they didn't survive.

I'll notify FedEx tomorrow if possible.

Regards,
Dave

This was the same way mine were shipped. A box for each light and the two boxes combined into one.

Same here on the boxes. I got them from my girlfriend for Christmas today  and unfortunately one of the lights had a cracked piece where you install the lights in the back. Also the rubber molding and the plastic pieces that it attaches to were also broken off and, on one of the headlights, the black stuff is peeling.

Please advice  since I really want to install them?

Again, with issues? PM and email me with photos so I know what issue you have. Obviously they could have better packaging, but that's beyond my control. I'm not real happy with the shipping results but am powerless to stop it, just can correct it.

Adde, Heather was so happy to get them for you. Sorry you have an issue. I'll get it squared away and it sounds like yours are going to be replaced. PM and email me.

Hang loose and I?ll add you to the list of the three others with issues. Thanks.

As I said in the PM, I emailed you and just wanted to say thanks for all the help! Yea she told me you were super helpful and would just like to thank you once again for the help before and after the purchase.

Sounds like those were definitely damaged by the shipping company.
I have 2 friends that work for UPS and have heard some very bad stories about times when someone on the dock becomes a bit disgruntled.
Indy will take care of it!

Let the shipper deal with claims

The shipper is the one that should handle the claims. I ship a lot of FedEx and UPS and you don't want that hassle. Their first step is to deny any claim for insufficient packaging, doesn't matter how it was packaged, and it goes downhill from there. My last claim was where FedEx damaged a pair of wheels in a double thickness, multi cardboard, layered box at the first warehouse off the truck. It was damaged so bad they lost the self adhesive label off the box, 3 months, multiple forms, 20+ phone calls, numerous lies (the person that cuts checks is out the rest of the week, or oh the check was sent but I know that it takes a long time for some reason with the USPS to get things to Florida from Pittsburgh, etc.) Their plan is to wear you down and a good percentage will just fall out and never actually try and get their money.

A good UPS story is a claim I had sending some race seats insured for $2K. They were destroyed at the Atlanta warehouse to the point where they said they were sent to their damaged section with no boxes and were eventually just discarded. They denied my claim as there was no evidence left that the seats (for which I had a purchase invoice to me and a sales invoice to my customer) were actually in the box that was destroyed. What a brilliant strategy!!

Moral. Let the shipper deal with the claim and have them send a new one out ASAP.

Started my install and it's very easy. Three 10mm bolts hold the main housing on and then there's a ball and socket type deal that requires some careful finesse to get out. I got them swapped in less the 20 minutes taking out the old light and installing the new.

On to the pics
Start of the install

High beams

There are some spacing issues I need to figure out but they may be nothing. I'll start with the top spacing.

I aimed the camera at the same spot at roughly the same distance

Yea I agree and Indy said he'd take care of it. I work for a manufacturer's rep company and, if something's broken, we the rep handle it with the manufacturer, not the customer that paid for everything. So hopefully I can get this fixed soon.

Dang?those look good. Another group buy that I missed out on!! UGH!!

Hopefully there'll be another one!

Here's a night photo. These are the brights as the low beam is burnt out on the passenger side. It looks like the stock housing is brighter. I'm going to replace the bulb tomorrow and see if that makes a difference.

Still no third brake light here in NJ! Tracking # Indy?
UPS also lost 3 of the other gifts my wife purchased for me.

I realize my items need to be re-shipped Indy but, when they are, I'd sure appreciate a tracking # too. UPS seems to be losing a lot of packages this season. :wall:

Thanks for your efforts and I hope you had a great Christmas :!:
