I know it's been a while since anyone's seen me around and I apologize. Life often gets complicated and in the way! I've wanted to jump back in the pool so many times? I missed this group of great people! I hope everyone's doing fine and hope to catch up with some of my old friends and make some new ones too!

As the subject line implies, I'm currently looking for an 03 D. Once I find it, it'll be my fourth! I want an SLT or SLT+, but it seems to be getting harder to find the really nice ones anymore! I've narrowed a few down that are somewhat close to me, mostly in Jersey, and I know there are quite a few of you guys in that area. Anyone know of the reputation or had direct dealings with Baker Chrysler, Jeep in Princeton or Seaview Chrysler, Jeep near Asbury Park?? They have what I want, but I don't really want to drive the distance if they're not worth giving my hard earned money to.

I miss my D and need another!!

So again, I'm glad to be back and looking forward to a long catch up process!!

It's not so much that I'm having a hard time finding one, I'm just not finding the right one and I'm gonna be picky about this one!!

Glad to see you're OK! The Jeep doesn't look too bad. When I get on to the home computer, I'll have to load up some pics of my former R/T.

Autotrader has had some of the better ones I've found so far, but I think I need to stay somewhat local. Only due to the fact my Pop is traveling with me, he owns half of my F-150 trade-in, and he definitely won't be up for such a long ride. I do appreciate you looking out though!

She's a beauty for sure! Red and black, two of my all time favorite colors! I'm pretty sure I'm going to go black on my next D as my last was a red R/T. I just posted pics of it's demise! :furious: Hopefully, me and pop will get out this weekend and pick up one I've been looking at on the trader for the past week.

Update:

Still on the hunt and it's getting frustrating now! I looked at an 03 about a week ago with 4 bald and dry-rotted tires, the rear bumper cover smashed, and a check engine light on. The ad said 97,xxx miles, but when I looked at it it had100,xxx? really!! I can see adding a few extra miles from test drives, but 3,000?? It was also way overpriced and undercut on my trade!

I'm going out tomorrow to take a peek at another that'll hopefully be a winner. Wish me luck!

I'll probably stay with the 4.7, but only because my 01 R/T was horrible on gas! I'm not saying the 4.7 isn't great as I believe the AWD had something to do with that. If I could find a 5.9 with selectable 2wd/4wd, I might consider it.

I'm amazed you only lost 1 MPG with the P/T to AWD swap? I thought for sure that's where I was losing it! Now I wonder if the R/T didn't have something else going on with it? :?

I have been considering traveling a little farther for what I want and, honestly, I'm even starting to look at some Gen2's now. I never really thought I'd consider one but, as I've done some more homework, it looks like they get better mileage than the Gen1's? even with a Hemi! So I may end up with an 04 or 05 Gen2. All I know for sure is, the F150 has got to go!

I saw a huge mileage difference between the 4.7 and 5.9. It was almost unbearable to have to put gas in it every other day and I was up on all of the maintenance on the R/T as well. A part of me says just go back to the SLT, but another part says get another R/T. I just don't want to put myself behind the 8 ball where I have to deal with the mileage issues again.

Up until the R/T, I'd only had 4.7's, although I always wanted the 5.9, and now I keep double guessing myself. :wall: I guess that's why I've started thinking Gen2 with the Hemi. Will I experience the same issues though? How good are they really on gas?? I do realize any V8 powered SUV isn't going to be great (it's basically pushing a brick through a wind tunnel), I just don't wanna be at the gas station more often than the employees working there! LOL I also need interior space at this point.

I miss the old D and need another!
