Wow they surely are selling mostly R/T's ...no limited production models here for Dodge.

Ordered my wife's 2014 AWD Citadel Granite Crystal Metallic, 5.7L, Tech Package, Blueray/DVD, 2nd row Captains Chairs, Tow Package and Skid plates ($48,750 +TTL and includes $1000 cash incentive). I live in the Dallas area so AWD models are few and far between. My sales guy initially found exactly what I was looking for at another dealer about 20 miles away. We negotiated the deal on Saturday night and then on Monday when he went to "trade" for the vehicle he found out it was sold on Saturday. This left me with no other choice but to order new from the factory. I received my VON today but since the order was just placed on Monday it is not in the Chrysler system yet.

Can anyone that recently received their new factory order give me an idea of how long it took from order to delivery?

Just put in our order tonight - Cherry Red Citadel with black interior, RWD, 3.6L, dvd headrests, captain chairs with optional console. Used USAA pricing and ended up 10.68% below MSRP. When I ordered my Challenger last year, several dealers beat the USAA price. This time, no dealer would beat it. Weird.

Anyway, we are excited! Not in any major rush, if it comes in somewhere in the 30-60 day window I'll be happy.

I did use it. Simply built the vehicle to my specs, submitted the request, I got a call from the local dealer that same day. I tried to shop around, but no dealers would beat the USAA price. The local USAA certified dealer didn't have one in stock or available which matched exactly, so they just ordered it according to the USAA price. Easy as pie.

Ordered a Cherry red/black Citadel AWD 3.6 on 1/28. Options are CD, towing package, tech package, skid plate package. I will install a video server and use tablets for entertainment on board. MSRP is $48,125 and I got $43,769+TTL. My VIN is around EC451XXX and I see that there are vehicles in the EC420XXX range listed as "in transit."

Assuming that they build around 830 vehicles per day, my vehicle should be in transit within 37 days from now, or around March 17. That would put delivery at 7-8 weeks from order.

WRT warranties ... when I bought my 03 Avalanche, I went with a "Warranty Gold" warranty. They were advertizing on the Avalanche club website. What a mistake. Just after I paid if off (a few months after the purchase) they went bankrupt. I got 8% of my money back on liquidation. I would NEVER buy a third party warranty again. Now, I have bought factory warranties before and my trade is an 08 Caliber SRT4. It had a warranty BUT I never really needed to use it. That car and the matching Caliber SE that I bought for my daughter are the reason why I am a returning Dodge customer.

Ordered a Cherry red/black Citadel AWD 3.6 on 1/28. ... My VIN is around EC451XXX and I see that there are vehicles in the EC420XXX range listed as "in transit."
Wow, it could be built a LOT sooner than I thought. Looking through the "in transit" vehicles the numbers are now all of the way up to EC443XXX. Our D could be built over the next week!

Warranty Gold was around here as well and a bunch of guys got the shaft from them as well.

Yep, I was one who had a Warranty Gold warranty.. on my '99 I believe...

The Mopar warranty is the thing to get. It is attached to your VIN, so there are no issues when a dealer does service. Then again, there is a corresponding disadvantage, in that service MUST be performed by a chrysler group dealer.

Ordered a 2014 Durango Citadel AWD Hemi yesterday. Granite Crystal with the Tan Black Interior. All options except the chrome package and the CD player. MSRP $53,755, sales price of $49,637 before any rebates. Won't know the actual rebate until we pick it up.

I am interested in some pricing details on the Dodge MAX warranty. I haven't purchased any warranty yet, but but I got one crazy quote for around $3,650 for a 5yr/100K. I have seen some numbers on the forum but would like some specifics so I can compare apples to apples.

Thanks

I received my first order detail email today saying my car was "production scheduled". Any idea what that means exactly? Wonder how long it will take. I ordered the Dodge Durango Citadel AWD Granite with black/tan seats, tech and tow packages, captains chairs. I placed order at dealer on Feb 13th. They told me to expect 6-8 weeks (rare cases 10). Thoughts? Thanks.

My order is in the same status as yours (entered scheduled on 1/31). I watch the VINs of vehicles in transit and it looks like the bulk of the special orders are around EC434xxx-EC435xxx. There are a block of VINs out of sequence (such as 438162,444687,454597) and they are all RWD's. I didn't look too closely to see if they otherwise have similar options as I do have all that much time. My VIN is around EC451xxx so I am thinking that it got passed over when they built the RWDs (mine is AWD) or there is something on my order that excluded it. This is all speculation and I find looking for patterns in things interesting.

I don' t know the actual number, only what is visible in inventory and I am inferring data.

Under the Durango page, I do a "search new inventory." Included in the list are vehicles that are "in transit."
The number of entries grew by around 250 over the past few days but there are often multiple entries for the same vehicle.
Over the next few days I will try to perfect a script that can download all of the VINs in the inventory list. I just need access to a capture program, which I don't have on my laptop at the moment.

Here are a few of the recent out-of-order entries, which I suspect are all SOLD ORDERS (vehicles that WE ordered, not dealership inventory):

1C4SDJCT6EC435202 - R/T AWD - Granite Crystal Metallic
1C4RDJDG9EC435243 - Limited AWD - Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl
1C4RDJDG7EC435709 - Limited AWD - Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl
1C4RDJDG1EC435723 - Limited AWD - Deep Cherry Red Pearl
1C4SDHCT0EC438122 - R/T AWD - Redline Red
1C4RDHAG6EC438162 - Rallye RWD - Granite Crystal Metallic
1C4RDJDG4EC438812 - Limited AWD - Granite Crystal Metallic
1C4RDJEG2EC443067 - Citadel AWD - Bright White Clear Coat
1C4RDHDG1EC444687 - Limited RWD - Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl
1C4SDHCT1EC446116 - R/T RWD - Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl
1C4SDJCT3EC446173 - R/T AWD - Bright White Pearl
1C4RDJDG3EC446206 - Limited AWD - Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl
1C4SDJDT5EC446481 - Limited AWD - Bright White Clear Coat
1C4RDJEG2EC451XXX - Citadel AWD - Deep Cherry Red Pearl <--- MINE
1C4RDHAG0EC454597 - Rallye RWD - Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl

So, if your Durango is on this list and you didn't know (or VOTS didn't tell you) -- congratulations.

I placed an order on 1/30 and got a confirmation for production scheduled on 2/4. My VIN is in the EC451XXX range as well. Black AWD RT, Captains Chairs w/ console, Nappa, Sunroof, etc.

Hmm, I wonder if our vehicles will get here sooner than expected. I guess we shall see.

#73 ·
I have a AWD Citadel with DVD/V8/Tow/Tech/Captains Chairs/Skid Plates on order:

2/4/14 Order placed
2/10/14 Order confirmation (on the VOTs site)
2/11/14 Scheduled for production
2/18/14 still scheduled for production

I just sent a text to my sales guy to see if he has access to the VIN yet. Hopefully, I will see some movement this week as I would really like to take delivery the first week of March. Based on the build times I have been seeing in this thread that seems reasonable?

I called Chrysler customer service today (1-800-992-1997) and inquired about my VIN. I knew that it was production scheduled and there was not really much more that she could tell me other than (1) all of the parts needed have been received and (2) it's expected to arrive at the dealership on 3/9. Assuming transit is two weeks from inspection, the D should be built over the next few days. Doing a lookup by VIN still shows no sticker, so I know that it hasn't been built yet.

So, BlkDRT2014, I would expect yours around the same time. I am out on the West Sound (across from Seattle).

UPDATE: I decided to check on JGC production and there's some good news. Firstly, there is a HUGE inventory of them, so I would think that there are more DD's being produced right now than JGC's (~1400 DDs versus ~3800 JGCs). Secondly, the VINs of the JGC's currently in transit include a few in the EC447xxx-450xxx range, which means that our order (451xxx) has (most likely) been built or is nearing completion.

Thanks for the update John. Good digging to see where these things are. Hopefully, you are right and we will see these things in other week or two. I am in NJ, so I would imagine shipping would be about the same amount of time for both of our D's.

#76 ·
Got a call this morning from the dealership. He said that everything looks fine and the D will be built soon if it has not already been built. They expect delivery at the Port of Seattle on 3/9 and on site by 3/11. Still no VOTS update or sticker available.

#77 ·
Guess we'll have to wait and see at this point. If they show up around 3/11 that would put it right around the 6 week mark.

Feel like a kid waiting for Santa to bring presents!!!

I'm ahead of you in trim.

If it takes 32 hours to build, and there are two 10 hour shifts and no work on Sunday, then our builds probably started Friday. The update was as of 5:30 this morning, so we're probably off the line by now (2:31 PM Detroit time).

#80 ·
Still looks your estimate of arriving around 3/11 is pretty close. The email was sent at 8:32 AM and stated about 10 more days and the vehicle was beginning to be built. The next email I would receive was that the vehicle was being shipped to the dealer. I am not sure if they are counting 10 days as business days or including the Saturday's in that count. Still roughly two more weeks.

So I guess from the order status codes I am at this point, 2/24/2014 (F) Paint

This is weird.

I talked to Dodge last week and I had an estimated delivery date of 3/9.
The dealership (my salesman) called on (this past) Monday and said arrival in Seattle on 3/9 and to the dealership on 3/11.
The DD has been in final inspection since Tuesday, went into shipment status this morning.
The dealership (different person) called earlier today and they want to close out the deal, and the DD is due in on 3/17. (Mind you, it's the last day of the month.)
I just called Dodge and they said that it's in transit as we speak with a delivery date of 3/3 (which is this Monday).

I do not really want to close out the paperwork because I want to SEE the vehicle before I do so. I don't know what they need to do this, because I have a trade and some cash to contribute to the deal.

What do you think is going on?

#82 ·
They want to get their number up before end of Feb. Dont do it unless vehicle is seen and inspected.
Unless they are gonna throw some more $$(like another grand) off at you and put it in writing that all issues will be taken care of.

We're on the same page, Steve.

I think that they made up the 3/17 date on the phone, which has just added a tickmark in their "Sleazy Tactics" column.
(He said that if I closed then they could probably get the vehicle here more quickly. Vehicles marked sold are already at the head of the queue.)

I want the opportunity to check out the paint in daylight. That part has me worried.

John,

Tell that salesman to got S#&@ in his hat. Don't make the deal until you see the car. Obviously, it is now March so I am sure that if you did not do it yesterday they will leave you alone now.

#85 ·
Didn't do it. I would have lost all leverage at delivery. They stood to gain at my expense. I was happy with the deal (while it was good, it wasn't stellar) and wanted to stay with the local dealership for all of the maintenance work since they always did a professional job with my 08.

BTW, there is a VIN in the EC454xxx range in transit now.
