Drop in and let us know you just ordered your new Durango and don't forget to drop by our poll so that we can get a tally of the most popular trim!

It wasn't the dealers fault, they weren't getting any updates from the factory either. Dodge is super wish-washy (washie? Lol!) lately with providing updates on ordered vehicles, which isn't a good thing in this day and age. This year, possibly even next year, sucks for ordering anything really, just in this case it was a vehicle. I tried to build a computer, I gave up, the parts are still hard to find, and when you do find them they are three times the price they were a year ago. I ended up buying a pre-built PC for about the same price I could have built one. The supply topic is probably one for another thread, but with Christmas coming up, I'm not looking forward to that either.

Anyway, I kept it in the Mopar family and got something I've always wanted a Jeep Wrangler. I've waited years to get one because of various things like bad on road manners, gas milage, not enough engine power for passing, etc. This year's model they addressed more of the issues over even last years model, so after a test drive I was hooked. I got a Rubicon in Sarge Green and couldn't be happier. With the huge over original sticker prices we got with trade in values from our 2018 Durango and 2018 Charger we got a second Rubicon for my wife but in Hydro Blue.

Just for the record I don't mind waiting a respectable time period for something, but this went on a little too long, especially not knowing when or even if it was coming. That and trade in values were starting to drop as well, so we made a decision. I will always love Durango's, shoot I've had three of them, with us being a Mopar family this transition just gives me something different to love from the same company.

picked ours up today. certainly sounds nice, and the wife is ok with the added exhaust noise.

on another plus note, the dealer did NOT put their dealer sticker on the back so i don't have to deal with scraping it off. win win

on the negative side, i'm going to have to go through the process of programming the driver/fob settings with the wife since she's clueless on it. i didn't realize how many presets there are, or that there were different "users" within the uconnect. while i was programming my fob and seat i accidentally saved mine as user 1 but really being the number 2. that'll throw the wife off like crazy.

the reverse camera has also not improved, it's just a much bigger screen now. my 19 ram looks like 4k compared to hers. i really don't understand that

I dreaded the sticker more than I thought. I had my goo gone, a fresh towel and a plastic blade ready to rip it off. I walked up to it and it was so fresh it peeled right off, zero residue lol!! Got lucky!

The rear camera is already a known issue on the forum. Nothing to be done about it.

#1,167 ·
Not really an issue, I just thought the quality would be better. I don't think I ever read up on any of the camera stuff for the durango

#1,172 ·
I gave my dealer explicit instructions not to put their sticker on it or touch that front bumper and they came through lol.

isn't it crazy they are taking orders for 2021 MY in LATE OCTOBER???

I'm glad you got your order in and hopefully it stays on track to be produced. I just think its nuts.

only in 2020 and 2021 could something like this be happening.

it might even add to the value of the vehicles in the future.

As promised, I have some pictures of the SRT, just saw it this morning finally. Almost traded in my wife's brand new Rubicon for it as I was there for service with it this morning, she wouldn't have minded lol!.

They haven't posted pictures yet on their site but I'll link their page here as well. I overheard some of the salesmen saying people are interested in it already and the vehicle just hit their webpage yesterday, so goodluck to anyone that is in the market for this.

As a side note, I've dealt with Loren Derry for sales, but they should all be good, no B.S. price gouging or sales tricks. I've bought 3 new vehicles from them, and I was in and out super quick each time.

I was surprised. The salesman was surprised (he had already told me that the '21s were finished). It felt like the right move, especially because the color options are so limited for '22.

Value wise, I'm not sure. The SRT isn't going to be topping many shopping lists when gas hits $5 per gallon in NY, you know?

there will ALWAYS be a market for a Durango SRT. no more HC's after 2021 MY so SRT 392 is top of the food chain for Durangos,

yes gas WILL go up. but there will always be people with money wanting to buy status vehicles.

I wonder if my build has been pushed also? I was told 11/04. probably won't know until next week. my salesman said he would call on 11/05 to confirm it had begun on 11/04.

we'll see. I wouldn't be surprised if it is pushed back. I can handle days or a couple weeks. its the months delay I really do NOT want.

Here's my update from the last few weeks. First, off I ordered my SRT 6/14. I had a delivery date from Dodge for the week of 10/19. 10/19 comes and I see no build sheet so I call Dodge, I ask about the status, they tell me it's in D1, all parts are there waiting to be built "very soon" Great! This was progress at least from my last contact over a month ago. The same day I contact my dealer, my sales guy blows me off and never calls me back. I call the sales manager and he gets back to me the next day confirming D1 status adding an est. build date of 11/4. Tonight i received a Customer Care e-mail stating:
"The purpose of this email is to update you on the estimated delivery date of your Durango.

We are finalizing the validation process that every new vehicle goes through to ensure the highest possible quality.

Based on this process, your vehicle is set to arrive at ****. the week of 12/3/2021."

Ok, well that sucks. pushed another month back. Of course, there is always a chance it could come sooner but damn, I'd feel like I won the lottery if that happened.

Does anyone know what finalizing the validation process to ensure quality means? Wouldn't that tend to indicate it was in the build process or likely just a canned statement?

That is different from the email I got, which was:

“Thank you for your recent order of a 2021 Dodge! We are excited to welcome you to the Dodge family!

The purpose of this email is to provide you the estimated delivery date of your Durango.

Based on our most recent information, your vehicle is to arrive at XXXXXXXX the week of 12/9/2021.

If you do not receive a call from XXXXXXXXX within 7 days of the indicated delivery date, please contact your dealer for further information.”

So who knows … if the est build date is 11/4, I guess a delivery date out west a little over a month later makes sense.

Sorry to hear you’ve been waiting so long. I ordered 5/14 and took delivery 9/7. Not once in my almost 4 month wait did I ever receive an email and they definitely had my email address. I always texted my dealer and chatted with Dodge to get updates. I don’t recall anyone posting an email like yours before. Could be wrong and definitely do not know what it means. There’s just so much inconsistency between all of us here sharing experiences.

By looking at the edmunds lease forums, historically Dec of the outgoing year has had the strongest incentive numbers, but that was in the before times when the supply chain issues weren’t as big and the newer model year was available. In June of this year they seemed to be lower, like $0-1500, but since July have been generally better, in the $1750-3300 range depending on trim and location. Hopefully it stays high though!

I thought the incentives at the time of order were supposed to be honored. At my time of Order, it was a $2,250 rebate and is written as and figured into the price on my POC sheet.
That'd be pretty damn low if they won't keep up that part of the deal.

i don't want to be an asshole or anything but i DO NOT envy any of you who have ordered and not received yet. sorry, i'm really enjoying ours for the week weve had it so far

no worries from me. I'll be the same way when mine comes in we're going to make a road trip to Atlanta out of it when its delivered to the dealer. I've worked my tail off this year. I do mortgages and with rates being low we've been waaayyy busy since last spring. I'm planning on enjoying this December. :)

and... add me to the 'build date got pushed back again list'.

just emailed with my salesman, Mike Clinnin, at Mall of Georgia CDJR. my build is now scheduled for 11/15.

it was originally 11/05.

Got a VIN and a D code.

No word on build date yet. Fingers crossed.
VIN and D code means it will get built. and it will be built as a 2021 model. now... as to WHEN the build actually happens?

originally I had thought they would cut off 2021 MY production by Christmas break. and maybe they will. but I'm seeing orders as late as mid-October and I'm seeing 3 month build time frames. that math equals build dates after Christmas for some 2021 MY. crazy world.
