That color is different! I don't think I have seen one yet. I chose destroyer grey because it's very unique and looks great in person.

Since you ordered in March, I know there was a staff lay off for the end of April thru end of May. So it is giving me some hope I can get it soon.

What did you get for add ons?

Seems like 99% of the newer Durangos I've seen are destroyer grey

My T&G ordered 5/5 is at dealer, pick it up friday

Well that sucks. I hope it only flooded the staging area outside and not the factory itself. If it flooded the factory too, we will likely not see any more 2021 models being made.

Edit: FWIW the rain isn't letting up anytime soon. We are suppose to have rain for a solid week in SW Michigan, topped with a tornado watch currently as well, good times.

Damn so they will just cancel all orders on them? There goes my plans! I guess ill wait it out for a bit. Got wifes lease due in september/october and a baby due November which will probably be october. Things are gonna be hectic!

#554 ·
Damn you're 7weeks in and they haven't even started your build yet? They most definitely will not be starting mine then!

They haven't canceled any orders, that I've heard of. They started 2nd shift back up at around 4:30 PM Saturday which is good news. From what reports the news got from the flooding, it was bad enough to delay 1st shift only. The flooding around the area was causing those workers a struggle to get to work due to street closures and what not.

I placed an order May 3rd for an SRT 392 and haven't heard of any updates yet of them starting on it. Just know that not hearing anything doesn't mean much. There are several that have reported on both the Charger Forums as well as here stating they had no updates at all, to it all of a sudden being built and shipped. Dodge chat as well as the dealers are not getting up to date info. Personally I check my build sheet as well as my window sticker with my VIN online daily for updates.

Edit: Forgot the updated news article.

Thats good to hear. But what about all those builds that were already done waiting for transport? I think I feel better in my current state of waiting on build than someone whose built was almost done and now has no clue if its under water in a lot waiting for pick up or not. Sorry if anyone in here is in that situation!

Until they give us more info it is hard to tell how many were in the flood water. The good news is they have several staging areas for shipping over there, there may have been just one that was affected. Also just one of those areas where they are parked ready to ship have enough space to hold thousands depending on which one they are sitting on. They are absolutely gigantic areas, and the images we have seen could just be one corner of one of them. Again not sure how many they had ready to ship, but they are likely not full especially with the stupid semiconductor shortage.

To get an idea of how massive these areas are if your bored look up Jefferson North Assembly Plant in Google Earth. The last satellite image taken looks to be either before or while they were starting to build the new Jeep plant. In the last image, the bigger of the areas isn't even 1/4 full, and probably has close to a thousand vehicles ready to ship.

Edit: Also not sure what is up with their updates to customers and dealers with orders. They use to be right on track with info, now they are all over the place and don't seem to know what stage it is in sometimes. Shoot they even had an updated tracking page on their site you could go to free of charge anytime you wanted, but they have since taken down in the last year or two.

Phewwwww.... Relief! Just chatted with Dodge Customer Care:

Maurice (6/28/2021, 3:54:54 PM): No worries Robert, your order was not affected by the flooding event that happened as it was shipped 4 days prior to this happening.

Well its funny, one day I chat, they tell me all parts are there just pending on build date, then I chat again a week later and they say waiting on parts. It's such a cluster it's crazy. Like my buddy did his Ford custom built, the site they use for it is so nice and gives really up to date status on everything. From start to finish. Dodge is bs lol

I have yet to see anyone that hasn't? I thought that was the chip shortage issue. But as i saw more orders going through with that option figured it wasn't a major issue. But yes I did, but only that, not the tech package.

I want (for my wife) GT Plus, Blacktop package, Blind Spot Cross Path Detection, Premium group 1 and Premium group II. (no tech group, don't want it)
I wonder how my chances would be for the DD to be built and delivered in 8-10 weeks?

Hi everyone,
My first post here. I ordered a 2021 Durango SRT 392 TnG on 6/14. Trying not to lose my mind and it's only been a few weeks. No VIN yet. Dreaming I will be able to take delivery by late August.

Welcome! Yeah the wait it terrible, I'm on 7 weeks with just a VIN lol still waiting for parts apparently. And nice choice on a SRT. I believe the srt models will take a bit longer then the RT or lower just because of the stuff in that car. I ordered a RT with tow and go, blindspot, sunroof, Harmon speakers, leather with captians chairs, red interior and Blacktop Package. But you may never know. Some people waited less then others and some are like me juat waiting for parts. I guess the more unique the order you have, prepare to wait... cheers man.

I thought i read somewhere that 2021 model year production was delayed, so they won't be starting 2022 production late this year. Don't hold me to that though.
I don’t think there's going to be any changes to the '22 models anyway.

@davewear

I am assuming you have a VIN as well? It is possible to have a VON without a VIN, meaning the order was never accepted, something with the request got messed up and needed to be resent, or perhaps it was never sent at all. Have you contacted Dodge through their online chat feature? If you haven't, try them just to make sure your VIN and VON are actually in the system and valid.

If you have both, and verified everything is valid, I would contact your dealer and make them find out what is up. I too ordered an SRT as of May 3rd, and nothing has happened yet on mine either. From the way I've been seeing different trim levels pop up online and here on the forums, I am pretty sure SRT's should be next in line to start production again.

Edit: Your VIN usually takes a a few days to a week to get. Originally you will get your Build Sheet (POC) from the dealer with just a VON, and then they should call you once they receive the VIN.

Thanks, very little support for Canadians from Dodge. I did contact Dodge support Canada and they verified what my dealer said, VON and BG status. I’m due for my monthly check in next week and will be a little more assertive about them digging into it…..
