2014 R/T with Captain's Chairs, Roof, Dvd, Tech, Nappa and Nav in the Blue Pearlcoat. It was between that and the granite that Danny shows above. It's all beautiful and I have no shame in admitting that I left the final call to my 4-year-old girl. I too struggled with the 2 wheel choices and like Danny let it be. Seeing his pics, I'm happy with the choice!

My wife was not a fan of the option polished. I am happy with my choice as every RT in north Texas on the lots (which is 6 within a 75 mile radius) has the polished wheel option. I am good with them...but very happy with my overall choice. I skipped DVD. No trailer option for you? Must for me. Cyclist...

2014 R/T AWD, Granite Crystal Metallic, Tech Group, Rear DVD, Nappa Leather, Sunroof, Trailer Tow, 8.4AN Navigation. I kept the 2nd row bench since the D is replacing a minivan and we need (want) the extra seat. My build sheet has "20" X 8" Premium Painted Aluminum Wheels (WRH)". I have to assume that's the standard Hyper Black wheels since it says "painted" and not "polished". I told my salesman that if there was any exterior chrome then I would cancel my order and he wouldn't get so much as a thank you for his efforts, haha!

I went round and round on this one with my dealer as there was some confusion....Here's where I landed. I belive (and I ordered) that the stock wheels are those Danny shows above (hyper black) and the $500 option for painted/polished are the ones JadesMarine showed on a different thread, check them out. If you just ordered and prefer the look above, may be time to change?

I hate to say this, but I probably know more about this vehicle than most Dealers I've spoken with. The "Painted/Polished" wheels on the R/T are NOT the "standard", as you suspect. The standard wheel with the R/T is, indeed, the 20-inch Hyper Black Aluminum. Also standard on the Rallye.

The "Painted/Polished" OPTION on the R/T is the 20-inch Polished Aluminum with Gloss Black Pockets. These are not offered on the Rallye.

I must be old-school because I like that little bit of bling with those optional wheels on the R/T, but not a fan of the R/T, itself (except for the Performance Suspension Tuning). I do not like everything in "stealth mode" -- body-color grills, dark wheels, body-color mirrors, etc. Having said that, I was surprised that I found the Red Taillight Bar fit so well, in my opinion, with the Redline Red 2 Coat Pearl color option on the Citadel that I'm considering. I was not a fan of the red color until I noticed that. Because it seemed "stealthy", and less like a forced idea. Strange, yes?

Agree 100%. I had the same experience with the wheels. I am the opposite to you - I wanted the standard Hyper bk. I ended up with a Granite Crystal R/T AWD. I did look at a red one on a local dealers lot but my wife insisted on the darker color. I also liked the Max Steel.

Ordered a Citadel Black Ext Black\Tan Int AWD V6 2014 with fleet manager, James Mulder of Normandin CDJ in San Jose, CA on 10-18-2013. Options include: 2nd row captain chairs with storage console, Trailer Tow Group, Technology Group, Rear Bluray Entertainment Center, Mopar Black Appearance Group. Will be shopping for JGC SRT8 wheels. The Dodge VOTs site states the car status is in "scheduled production" as of this posting. I was told approximately 5 weeks.

Dodge must be looking at this forum because I just logged into the VOTS site, and now it has shipped!!! WOW!!! Thank you forum! OK Dodge, don't forget to delivery our fellow member, Trifecta's ride too!

I tend to keep my cars for over 10 years so I'm going to buy the Mopar Lifetime warranty. Don't want to chance it with this new 8 speed tranny that haven't got much history on the books. Not only that I don't want to be ridiculed by my Import auto loving friends and families if this Durango takes a crap.

The lifetime warranty is a decent deal, I think; I bought one for my '14 GC.

There are many reputable Chrysler Service Contract vendors online (e.g the grandfather of guy that runs chryslerwarrantys.com sold cars to my grandfather) .. but I think you'll find your dealer to be pretty elastic on the price, once you enlighten him/her.

I went with the warranty also which goes against every fiber in my body but my wife insisted and we all know what you do when that happens!!?? I am ok with it. $1600. Company out of Austin. Good BBB rating. Good online customer reviews. Warranty goes to 100k, 6 years, $100 deductible. We'll see.

aznguy, happy to report that my vehicle also flew through the steps in the VOTS over the week and is now also showing shipped. The excitement is building. Now, who knows if shipped means on a truck or in line to be put on a truck, but being only a few short hours from Detroit, it certainly can't be long now!!!

It seems like most people want the 2nd row buckets and I'm the odd-ball for wanting a bench, but that's ok with me. My wife wanted the bench so we got the bench. That extra seat may never get used but it's nice knowing we have the capability if we ever do need it. I have pictures of the production model as my laptop background and every day I count down till I'll be back in the States and enjoying my new Durango....130 days now....I can't wait!!

As a general idea:

If you can find the vehicle you love on a lot, buy it.

If you can find a vehicle you are content with on a lot, buy it.

Otherwise, order it.

I bought my '07 on a dealer search at the end of the model year, and it is to this day an awesome vehicle.

But when I went shopping for my '14, I wanted what I wanted. My dealer was completely cool with that, and in fact folded some of my comments into what they ordered for future "stock" orders.

Most of all, once you own it, it is yours. Love it.

Got the email from Dodge this morning. I can start using the VTOS which is both a curse and a blessing; I'll be compulsively checking that multiple times a day now

I am currently in the process of ordering my '14 R/T AWD.
Maximum Steel w/ Hyper black wheels
Power Sunroof
Rear DVD system
Premium Nappa Leather
Tow Group
Navigation system

But I have a question: the dealer gave me a sales order but it had everything hand written because they were having computer problems.
It also stated the MSRP. When I questioned this they then hand wrote their "selling price" followed by "includes rebates". But the saleswoman told me I would get the truck for that price despite not qualifying for all of the rebates.

Should I have been given a fully itemized sales order, showing sale price, sales tax, doc fee, reg fee, etc? My sales order doesn't have any of this and I was told I'd get it when I came to accept delivery. They also couldn't give me an accurate monthly payment (I'm financing) because they said the interest rates might be different by the time I pick up the car.

I apologize if this isn't the thread for this. This is my first time here...

The simple answer: Yes, you should have a fully itemized order showing everything that's standard, anything that's optional, and any associated fees (tax, tag, title registration, etc). If their computers were down that day, they should be up and running by now. However, there's so much more that can go into answering this--when I ordered mine, the interest rate and rebates are "adjustable" until the day I take delivery. Meaning, if the rebates go up from the time I placed my order, I get the larger rebate. If the rebate goes down, I still get my original rebate. I would go back and sit down with your saleswoman (or even the sales manager) and tell them you want an itemized purchase order (or buyer's order) and you want them to better explain the rebates that they gave you.

On the other hand, I got an email saying that my order has been accepted by Dodge! March can't get here soon enough!!

OK I'm in. We ordered our R/T granite Chrystal w/ Black interior.... Options and price below...
How does this deal compare to others?

AWD
U connect with Nav.
Sun roof
2nd row console with arm rest/storage
2nd row fold/tumble captains chairs
Premium Napa Leather
Tow Package
Rear DVD
Technology group

Total $48,204
Minus $1,500 negotiated off invoice
Minus $1,000 on rebates

So $45,704... Before T&L

I opted to deal with a dealer all the way in San Jose and we are going to pay $250.-$300. To have it shipped to our home in Palm Springs...

I just got mine on 12/11/2013. It took 42 days.

4 Weeks on Scheduling, one week in paint and the rest in shipping.

Dodge needs fix that website and make it more accurate. Right now is useless. It actually showed shipping two days after I took delivery of the vehicle.
When I ordered it they had a $1000. rebate, then the manager told me that I could also get an extra $500 if I could provide a copy of my DD214 (Veteran). A couple of days before it arrive I received another rebate for $500 in the mail for a total of $2000. My Citadel is fully loaded, including the dual Display and blueray player. Extremely happy with it. Nicer than my old 2012.
