Hi I'm new here? and I have a 2000 4x4 SLT Durango, that only recently crossed the 30,000 mile mark.

I recently rec'd a flyer in the mail from my dealer (OC Dodge) advertising a "major 30,000 mile service" for $234.95. I called to inquire and they told me my vehicle is a 4x4 and the proper service would be more like $750!! (which included a lot of things NOT listed in the service manual like cleaning injectors, fuel filter, synth diff fluid etc etc.)

What do people pay for 30,000 mile service? What's really required?

My vehicle is out of warranty at this point, so does it matter if I do dealer servicings or not? Can anyone recommend a good independent shop in my area (Orange County California?) Any info much appreciated.

Many thanks!!

Thanks for the info Nico, you da man!! Did they do fuel injector servicing on yours at that time?

FYI I just got a quote from an independent shop for $379. That doesn't however include fuel injector service or changing the fuel filter, which isn't called for in the manual but my dealer was recommending (it'd be an additional $120, if needed, at this independent shop.)
