What do you mean none fit properly? There’s a ton of threads on here of people using aftermarket. Or do you have the big brembos?
I have a 2018 RT and bought everything at Rock Auto. I went with Powerstop Z23 Pads, I'm currently at ~90k miles on the factory rotors, I may swap them out. The pads have very low dust and make it easier to keep the black wheels clean. I think a set of 4 pads is ~$110 you can very easily do them yourself if you have some basic tools and a nice floor jack.Hi guys, My 2018 rt, needing new brakes, Where do i start? The internet says so many options but none fit properly...
OEM is the gauranteed to fit and best bet ... but $$$$
Does anyone have same car, with aftermarket ,that match oem ??
Dont want to give up children , for brakes.... but willing to!!! LOL!!
Any help, guys , thankyou!!
Great!! Thankyou,...any recommended rear rotors??Look into Akebono pads, the factory pads on the DD are Akebono, and the the retail pads are the same, as the factory @ a much lower price.
Sorry to say, I do not have any recommended rotors outside of the dealer. Here is why. The factory rotors lasted a very, very long time. Heck I had a ton of meat left on them when I actually replaced them. The dealer rotors was close to the same price as most of the high quality retail prices, for side, by side quality. So for the original braking quality as the factory, just buy the dealer rotors, and get the retail Akebono pads. You will have a better setup, than going all retail. There will be a challenge when you get on the Akebono website to find which set of pads your DD came with. One trick I use, is to go to Rock Auto, and see which set of Akebono's are for your DD, or visa-versa. Plan accordingly.Great!! Thankyou,...any recommended rear rotors??
I put 209K (yes, two hundred and nine thousand!) miles on the factory front pads on my 2014. The dealer turned the rotors and put them back on. I 'only' got 175K out of the rear pads. The factory rotors lasted a very, very long time.
I was way up there as well on pad/rotors, but opted not to turn the rotors. Turned rotors has never kept me from feeling uneasy. I get no dust from Akebono pads, and dealer rotors.I put 209K (yes, two hundred and nine thousand!) miles on the factory front pads on my 2014. The dealer turned the rotors and put them back on. New brakes as in pads? Rotors? Calipers? Complete rebuild? Do the existing ones still work but fade? Does your brake pedal feel firm? Soft? Down to the floor? I can point you in the right direction, just need more infoHi guys, My 2018 rt, needing new brakes, Where do i start? The internet says so many options but none fit properly...

Pads definately... 69k on R/T, Brakes just starting to grip/ grind a lil when coming to complete stop. Upon inspection pads are worn, front discs are clean , and not scarred, rears rotors have a definate wear pattern from pads with surface rust on either sides where pad hits... but no scarring. Without seeing it is hard to tell. If I were you I would stick with OEM or equivalent to stay down on cost unless you are looking to upgrade. Start with the lowest end of the totem poll (brake pads) and move your way up, calipers should be okay and wouldn't go out that fast. depending on how low your pads went in the back and how hard you rode them you may have warped a rotor or two in the back which would call for replacement. All of the above stated repairs are not to expensive, not that time consuming, and do not require you to disconnect any brake lines.Pads definately... 69k on R/T, Brakes just starting to grip/ grind a lil when coming to complete stop. I know right. Actually, I was stationed in a small village up on the upper New Hampshire border, and there was the local small parts house/w the flip pages parts list, so you had to drive 45-50 miles to get any kind of parts. Now when I tell people that, they would look at me crazy, and considering this was late 80's that was a different timeWhere do you live that doesn't have 11 mm or 7/16" tools anywhere? A small fishing village on the coast of Iceland?
