Yep.... It's gone. Word of advice, do NOT park one of these at the Memphis International Airport. Security's response was "yeah...this happens all the time." Man, I wish I had know that before I chose to park there.

So now, a vehicle that was trending UP in value, is now gone. I have to decide wether I want to get back into another SRT or not. I know '18 Mopar edition B5 blue will be hard to come by, so I may just go with a straight SRT. I loved that car.😭

#099/250 you were great....

The body shop went to the local dealership to make sure all things mechanical checked out. Shockingly enough, they said there was no indications or readings that anything but 93 octane was being used. Down side of that (according to the lead guy at the service department) is they knew they were going to race it and that "those engines don't respond well to to 87 and eventually will crap out on you". So many of those 1600 miles were probably pedal to the metal. They drained the gas, changed the oil, and (gladly) test drove the vehicle to ensure all was well.

The good news is that I'll be getting a warranty from the body shop that if anything goes wrong the first 90 days mechanically, they will take care of it. Lifetime warranty on the rest of the work. The other good news is that I should be getting it back this coming Friday.

Got it back, but dang, wouldn’t you know, they missed a few things. Like….. the seatbelt that was cut in half. How does one miss that??? It’s even in the sheet to fix! Couple of minor things, but they said they would take care of all of it next week. I didn’t get it until it was dark so I’m going over it with a fine tooth comb tomorrow. It’s great to have her back.

Side note: the new land speed record in #099/250 now sets at 150mph! I just hate that it wasn’t me doing it! Outside of being at a race track, I don’t know how I would ever approach that speed. If they did that locally, they could have killed themselves…..

Well, it's finally back and all fixed up. I've been driving it a few days now. The only issue I have is the spray can thing they used to "remove the smoke smell" from the car. It removed it alright, but I'll be damed if this smells worse!!!

Now my quest is to find an air freshener that I can tolerate. Any ideas on what is good out there?

Also, I have three new tires, but the insurance would not give me a fourth. Typical. Other than that, it seems to be running properly for now. Time to get a security system put on this thing!

Semi-related.... A few years back my wife got me for a B-Day present a 'detailing' for my prior Durango, very nice thought and it was appreciated...
They did a very good job except for 2 issues...
#1 like you experienced, they used some sort of fragrance which was in my estimation.... "Essence of Strip Club"...overpowering in fact... I didn't find another to cancel but luckily it was during the summer and the windows were down at a mandatory pace.
#2, They used some sort of 'Goo' to treat the seats, dash, steering wheel & floor mats... Which in turn made everything slide around. Unfortunately it was also used on the rear Weathertech cargo mat which made anything placed on it slide around at every turn.... Had to scrub it down with Simple Green to eliminate.

That was probably Armor All. It's nasty stuff and should never be used inside a car, in my opinion.
