I recently acquired a Mopar Performance PCM, Mine is a 99 4X4 with Federal part # P5007111 and it's the same year and all. What has to be done once it's installed? Do I have to take it to the dealer to get the VIN and mileage programmed in? Any help appreciated!

Nothing, install and go. The VIN can't be changed and the mileage on the dash is stored in the cluster.

The only thing that could keep it from working is the factory alarm. Do you have the factory alarm? If not and your buddy did, it your D won't run after installing it. If you have the alarm and he didn't, or both vehicles didn't have it, you'll be fine.

Lucky you on finding one, I'm still looking. I know SCT is a better alternative now. Back when I got my PCM, it was the only game before B&G and others came around. I'd be happy to get back where I was.

And if it doesn't match yours Green, I'm sure Neil will take it off your hands if it matches his.

Excellent idea! Steve :)

Ok, how do I tell if mine has the factory alarm? It has key fobs, does that count as factory alarm?? No flashing lights in the cluster or any where else? I've attached a pic of the PCM. Is there a way to tell from the pic if it has security?

So if I hook it up, it'll either start or it won't if it has security?

Power remote locks were standard with/without the factory alarm option. Lock your doors, if a red security light flashes in the middle of the dash, you have the factory alarm. The PCMs aren't specific for the factory alarm. The alarm is programmed in the BCM but there's a "setting" in the PCM that gets turned on when it's used and then "that" PCM will only work in another vehicle that has the alarm! You can ask the previous owner if his had the alarm. The only way to find out for sure is to install it. If it starts and then shuts right off, the alarm function has been set in that PCM.

(It was you that grabbed it off eBay. I saw he had it for sale a month ago so I emailed him if it'd sold and he re-listed it yesterday but I missed it.)

So we know it'll work for Neil! :cheesy:

No. Mine's just lock, unlock and panic as well.

The fobs are the same regardless of alarm option. There are alarm arm/disarm switches attached to the lock mechanism in the doors. When the doors are locked/unlocked by the fob, key or power door lock switches inside, the security system in the Body Control Module is armed/disarmed.

If you're using SCT, you don't need this PCM.
Sell it to Neil and it'll help defer the cost of tunes and tuner.

Thanks! :)

So, if you don't have security but you replaced the CTM with a high line one and enabled security with a DRB scan tool, would it work then? Just looking at other options. Is the CTM and BCM the same thing??

The Central Time Module and Body Control Module aren't the same thing! What's a high line CTM? The question of enabling the security option has been asked many times over the years on many Durango/Dak/Dodge forums but I don't think anyone has ever done it.

Early D Models had BCM's that essentially performed the same task as the CTM.
2000 and newer Gen 1's have CTM's that control everything. I don't know if you can turn on the security function or not, but it's quite possible it can be done with a DRB.

I thought they started using the CTM in 2k and up models.
