Looking for 2018+ Durango R/T with less than 40k miles. Needs to have 5.7L HEMI V8, AWD and factory installed Trailer Towing Group IV. Color and other options not important. willing to travel reasonable distance.
Yeah, I know. I’ve checked them all with little success. R/T’s with the factory tow package are rare. This was a last ditch attempt before biting the bullet and spending an additional $10k for an SRT. LOLThis is too small a search site for a car for sale. Look at Carmax, Carvana and Vroom.
A lot of the times the ad doesn't list "tow package" in options but just look for the "bulge" on the rear bumper. If it's got the bulge, it's got the tow package. Note: you can occasionally find a Citadel with the 5.7 and tow package as well. Same thing, look for the bulge. I see 6 or 7 on CarMax right now between $40k and $50k that match your requirements. Price may not be right, but they are out there!Yeah, I know. I’ve checked them all with little success. R/T’s with the factory tow package are rare. I would have bought that in a skinny minute!I just traded in my '21 RT with the tow package and it only had 2771 miles on it. Great truck and in perfect condition, I wanted one in destroyer gray with the TnG package so I factory order a '22 RT plus.

Damn! I’m going to check with Carmax! ThanksI've done a transfer with Carmax - took a little over a week to bring a car down the east coast to me. $500 to bring this one to East Cleveland from Florida...

Thanks! I’m aware of the “bulge”. Will check the Citadel availability.A lot of the times the ad doesn't list "tow package" in options but just look for the "bulge" on the rear bumper. Carvana makes you go through a whole lot more bullshit (basically have to have a check for the whole car purchase before they will even start to ship). CarMax makes it really easy. I wanted a premium 6.2 Tahoe about a month ago, got one shipped from carmax in NJ to GA - they said it would take 2 weeks, it took 1. Drove it, I realized I hated a Tahoe and walked away only out $250. Then I researched the Durango and found a 5.7 Citadel with the tow package local. Scooped it up and couldn’t be happier - I prefer the softer suspension over the sport and it came with all the safety features, I like it better without the hood scoop…Damn! I’m going to check with Carmax! Thanks
Sorry, I meant 6 or 7 R/Ts available on CarMax, not Citadels. I bought my Durango through CarMax last year....had to pay a few hundred bucks to ship it, but was able to find exactly what I wanted (V-8, tow package, Citadel trim). You can order the Car to your local CarMax and only pay the shipping fee...they hold it for you while you check it out and decide to buy. Thanks! I’m aware of the “bulge”. Will check the Citadel availability.
Good to know. Didn't realize Carvana had those hoops! I've bought a couple cars through CarMax, and shipped a couple others to look at! Only hassle is titles from some states (that use electronic titles, like CA and AZ) don't transfer cleanly to some other states. I waited like an extra month for a replacement physical title to come through on my Durango.Carvana makes you go through a whole lot more bullshit (basically have to have a check for the whole car purchase before they will even start to ship). TrueCar also has a decent search engine for finding local cars.
Thank you so much for pointing me in the Carmax direction. I researched and found the car that meets all my requirements. It is being shipped as we speak. $200 to get it here, maximum exposure if I elect not to proceed. Well worth the cost to me.Carvana makes you go through a whole lot more bullshit (basically have to have a check for the whole car purchase before they will even start to ship). Also, while CarMax won't negotiate on price you CAN negotiate on repairs. I bought my Durango from them and negotiated to have the windshield replaced (chips) and the Uconnect headunit replaced as well since the GPS antenna wasn't working. They give you a 30-day bumper to bumper warranty too, so you can come back for repair if you notice something wrong after purchase.Thank you so much for pointing me in the Carmax direction.
