Zeigler has a RT with simular packages (MSRP is close to the same) im thinking about printing it off and saying look here.

New 2015 Dodge Durango in Schaumburg, IL | Stock: 151126
i believe that the MSRP of that Durango is within 500 of the one that you're looking at ordering. It has a couple of different options and is missing the rear entertainment package. The RES options are becoming rarer and rarer because of iPads and tablets. I would definately fib and say that you could buy that one for $41,000 and you are willing to drive to go get it for that price.

Alright so i went to the dealer mentioned the blacktop package and they said they will give it to us at cost so something like $264.

I told them "look i'm spending 46k here you can eat $300 throw it in as a hey thanks for staying local and spending more than you have to" and they refused. I said well Ive got to think about this its a big decision.

Came home and called Zeigler up in Chicago. Spoke with a Matt Weintraub told him that i have already dealt with a dealer for 4 hours and i dont want to waster his time or mine but if he can give me a good deal he may make the easiest deal this year.

Told him what we wanted and said he would get me a price within the hour.

He sent us a price of $42,865. I called him told him he was much cheaper and ill do whatever i can to go to Chicago and deal with them. Asked if he could send me a out the door price so i can go talk to the bank tomorrow.

Now the questions is "How do i tell my current dealer to shove it?" and "What more should I ask from Zeigler?"

Call your local dealer and tell them that they lost out on the sale and that you're going father away for the better deal. Thank them for their time helping you and tell them that you're sorry you couldn't work something out since they're near by and hang up. They'll either call you back or they won't. If they do, or they pull a let me see what I can do, tell them that you're not interested in anymore games. Ask for the bottom line and be ready to go if they budge. If they're going to lose out on a sure sale and they take you seriously, you have the best chance. Telling them to fly a kite won't get you anywhere.

I also asked an out the door price for the Technology package just for curiosity reasons.

It requires the Napa leather package. What is the difference in the napa leather seat wise?

I think you're pretty good on the Ziegler side. Depending on how long you want to keep the vehicle, you might want to see what they will do on a Mopar extended warranty (search for info on that on the forum).

as far as the local dealer, cut bait. If they call or if you have to call them, just tell them they weren't even remotely competitive and you've gone somewhere else. The horse is out of the barn.

The Nappa does get you "nicer" seats, but it also gets you Auto Headlamp control, Cargo cover and net, Power tilt/telescoping steering wheel, 8-way power driver and passenger seat, Rain sensitive wipers, and Ventilated front seats.

Ziegler is the dealer I bought my truck from. They are very easy to deal with. They are also the company that does the 60% below list on the extended warranties. In an earlier post in this thread I posted a link to their online extended warranty site.

I would take Steve's suggestion and tell them beat the deal or beat it. When you come to Chicago to Pickup your Durango hit me up and we can meet for lunch at Portillos right down the block from them. They have the best damn hotdogs in the country.

My Fiancee is already getting her stomach ready for Portillos.

You dont have to do anything with that dealer. The sales donkey can answer his manager as to why they made no sale. Or the manager can answer to his manager as to why there was no sale. If he cant eat 300 it wasnt worth it
As Tom said Ziegler is one of the kings with warranties, see what he will give you the lifetime for if your gonna keep that D
Besides Paul will meet you there and take you out to Lunch

Great, just don't ask for Catchup. You might have to make a hasty exit in your new D
Ill keep you in mind. Hopefully i can drive up Saturday and get this thing ordered. Going to see what other extras and goodies i can toss in.

Wouldn't mind the nav upgrade, or tech upgrade.

Also talk to Paul about our events he met us all in Detroit. You and him can probably convoy to Carlisle for all Chrysler Nats

What all ford's the lifetime warrenty cover? Is it worth 2,500?

We're thinking of adding the nav pkg and getting the warrenty
Not sure what Ford has to do with the warranty, but I would do the maximum care lifetime warranty for $2,500. The NAV package for $400 is worth it. Comes with HD radio and voice activated NAV
