Hello All,

As the title states, I'm checking to see if anyone has replaced the stock bulbs in their stock Fog Lights with LED or HID? If so what did you use and what did you think of the results?

I just got done with changing the cloudy/crusty yellowed headlights in my Durango and put LED High/Low bulbs in them. I've got one Fog light with a broken lens and a burned out bulb. I've got replacement aftermarket OEM style Fog Lights to go in but there's disassembly of the front fascia, etc to get to them. I figure if I'm going to replace the fog lights and have to take all that apart I should get my bulb choice done before the hassle and do it only once.

If there are replacement Fog Light assemblies that are projector or better in some way then I'm open to those options also. Let me know what you have. Thanks.

And here's the results of today's Headlight replacement!

A productive afternoon of modding/upgrading! New aftermarket headlights and new LED High/Low Combo bulbs along with new parking and turn signal bulbs up front on the DuRonbo Durango!

Thanks for the info. $120 for a pair though! I like the passive cooling and no fan to fail.

Are you using these bulbs yourself?

One of the bonuses of LED vs HID is that you don't need Ballasts/Igniters like you do on HIDs. That's a big plus for me. Don't need to find places to mount extra modules and crap. I've installed HID upgrades on more than vehicle and have found that space is at a premium behind the headlight for even modern HID bulb connections.

Now that the Durango is becoming my main "Company Car" for business trips etc, I think I can take expense money and re-invest in the DuRonbo Durango for upgrades , etc.

Thanks for your input. I think one trip to an Airport on a Service call will pay for the LED upgrade and more! Just trying to gather relevant info that's reliable! We all know about the Internet and how everything is true because it's on the Internet! LOL!

The SLF appears to be a single filament LED vs the SL1 and it's dual beam. I'll check them out more closely. Thanks.

I wouldn't do HID in a fog light simply because of the on/off cycles which are murder on your ballasts.

I've been eyeballing a set of DeAutoKey LED fogs, they're bicolor LEDs, 500k white or yellow and they have a strobe function with is useless but still fun.

Dual Color LED Fog [1 bulb 2 colors] Choose between a Clean White & Hyper 3000k Yellow at anytime | deAutoLED

Yes, pricey, but anything thats actually decent and throws out some usable light is going to cost you. I've seen guys putting these in their low beam headlamp housing and being very happy with the nighttime illumination, though I don't have a set myself yet.

I installed BEAMTECH H10 Led Fog Light Bulb,9145 9040 9140 CSP Chips 6500K 800 Lumens Xenon White Extremely Super Bright in my 07 last weekend. I had ordered HIKARI Ultra LED Headlight Bulbs Conversion Kit -H13/9008, Prime LED 12000lm 6K Cool White H13 for the headlights.... BUT they was to loose. I completely forgot to check the exhisting bulbs to make sure I had ordered the right ones. BOTH were odered on amazon. the fog lights was $25.99 and the Hikaris was $89.99. I also opted to replace the exhisting lenses and low and behold amazon had 2 different sets of both lights as a package deal. I opted for the ones tht was 20 more expensive as they just looked better. So that was another $199 dropped (minus the 82 credit for the Hikaris I sent back. Im hoping that maybe someone misspackaged the Hikari as they looked awesome and I really wanted to go that way based on the reviews and lumes.

FINALLY got back home from weeks on the road (WITHOUT the durango) and got to set the height and get some pics. Hopefully I did it right (25-30' back and 2" lower then actual headlight height). NOT the best pics.... First one should be low with fog and second should be high no fog. ABSOLUTELY love love love the new headlight and fog lights and the LEDs installed in all 4.. Will have to do some driving in town to see how many people flash me to see if they are to high... The light bulb is 36" and I set them about 34ish at 30ish feet.
