How much does the Beats upgrade cost? I'm just a regular guy. A sound system upgrade to me means rubber cementing the factory speakers back together so they stop distorting. There wouldn't be enough additional incentive for a fellow like me to pony up, I'm assuming? No other enhancements but the actual sound?

I think the Beats is now standard on the R/T and Citadel models.
Standard on R/T. $495 option on Citadel. Not available on Limited or SXT

First of all, congratulations! I recently purchased mine off the lot without Beats. In fact, I didn't even realize it was an option (or that it would be if I had waited a little longer). The issue I have with the Alpine system (mine, at least) is that it has too much bass. Certain styles of music sound better than others, even if I adjust the EQ. I wish the older systems had better sound manipulation. Scratch that ... I do, but I really wish I had held out for a few weeks. That being the case, I really can't complaint. Durangos have come a long way since my 2003 SLT Plus! Enjoy the new ride.

c6vette05, I just can't believe you got yours already! Don't get me wrong, I saw the video, so I know it's true. And it's not that I'm not happy for you, I am. But I ordered mine on 5/14 and I won't be getting it until July 6th (fingers crossed).

Admittedly, I'm in California, so that adds to the shipping time, but IIRC, you didn't order until the 26th. Less than 4 weeks, you must be stoked. Can't wait to get mine in my driveway. For now, I'll live vicariously through you.

That is crazy that it takes that long to ship to California.......You should have them ship it to my house and fly to Indiana and pick it up! I was actually surprised with how quickly I got it. I know the dealership sent it in as a paid order....not sure if that makes any difference? It will be worth the wait....like I said its my first Dodge, and I am impressed. There are a few "build quality" issues I have noticed, but nothing I can't over look. Everyone that has seen it has commented about how bad it looks (bad=good). Lots of comments on the black wheels...... I must say, the wheels and front end are my favorite features on it. Maybe you will get yours early - good luck!!!!

Thanks, man! Yours does look sweet (as in bad=good also).

As of 3:09pm Eastern, mine's in Monroe, Ohio, so at least I know it's making it's way to me. Mine was a paid order too (even though I haven't paid anything other than the kilobuck for the deposit). I'm guess it's just maybe color, AWD vs RWD, options, whatever. I think our build dates were actually fairly close and also that they didn't start anybody's on the 15th, so I can wait a little bit longer. I think...

Beats speaker on their own are really not the best quality speakers however the software that drives a beats system makes all the difference. In the end I am sure they walk circles around our Alpine systems.

Very nice...can you take a photo of the EQ settings Screen? I was wondering if it Beats is different than what the rest of us have?

Looks like they deleted surround sound and added Aux. Volume Offset. I'm Curious to know what they changed to eliminate the EQ bug , new amplifier ? or the same one. If its different does the amplifier have the same pin out.

Aux Volume Offset is in the 2015 with Alpine as well. At least it is in mine. No noticeable EQ bug either.

Speaker locations and sizes are exactly the same as the 10 speaker Alpine system. But the amplifier is listed as "12-channel", which makes no sense unless the center channel has become dual voice coil.

With a dual voice coil subwoofer, there's only 11 available voice coils to power.

I've also seen literature listing amplifier power as 552watts instead of the Alpine's 506watts. But then again, an article on Cars.com says it's 13 speakers.

I'm not certain we can trust any of this information. I'm tempted to think it's only software tuning an all hardware is still the same.

The Dodge site says it's the same 506 with the same photo of the same speakers... Of course it also says that it has the mythical "12 channels." No way in hell they are doing a DVC on the center, the best they could pull off would be a bi-amped coax yet the Chrysler wiring diagrams still only show the same eleven channel system.

I'm on the same page - same system with different software running on the amp. Odd that the surround setting is missing, however that was a setting that had zero effect so nothing gained, nothing lost.

Which is also weird that they tuned it that way....the Alpine system and the regular 6-speaker system already seem to have a ton of bass coming from the front doors.....to the point that you have to wonder if the rear sub is adding to the sound at all.

I've replaced my factory 6x9s in the front doors with Boston Rally series 6.5s and it sounds so much better. Much clearer vocals and a more detailed mid-range, a more rounded and cleaner sound overall, especially when coupled with the center channel speaker upgrade.....and it doesn't sound like there's subwoofers trying to pound my doors to pieces.
