Just ordered my Durango Hellcat

I called two local Dodge dealerships today, one who wouldn't sell a Hellcat for under $10k ADM, and the other selling at MSRP. Guess which one I ordered from?

I was given a delivery lead time of about 10 weeks, but we'll see if that'll hold.

Mine's only a R/T TnG but yeah... mine completed production on 2/17 and it's been in Inspections status since then. I've been rattling cages with Customer Service and my dealer for 2 full weeks now. They literally won't give any information at all. Now my dealer is going up the corporate chain to find out WTF is going on. I've already had to extend my 2018's lease by a month, hoping they will get it to me before then. While I'm happy for the folks on here getting their vehicles, I'm getting tired of seeing people who ordered after me getting trucks delivered. Something is completely screwed up.

Same deal here. Ordered at 9am on Nov 6th.
status 2 saturdays ago was 3/16 ship date. New status: still in D1 with an April12 build. Rrrrggghhh
Same here...ordered day one and can't pull a build sheet and my date has been pushed back every few weeks and last check, I have an April 6th ship date, but without a build sheet still, that is even doubtful. Just ridiculous when there is zero communication and they keep pushing things back. To see people who ordered after me an already have their vehicle, drives me insane.

I know you guys are probably only interested in the Hellcats, but this is happening to the other trim levels as well. I'm waiting on a R/T TnG that was ordered 1/16 and built on 2/17. It is still sitting in Inspections status. 34 days now. Would you be interested in putting non-Hellcats on the spreadsheet? Adding more vehicles to the mix might help identify the part(s) that cause this delay.

No the spreadsheet is Hellcat only, but to answer your question, yes, it is for all Durangos and I am sure all Grand Cherokees coming out of JNAP and all other automotive plants. Every day brings with it a new shortage they have to adjust for I am sure. Trucking and train schedules I am sure are not back to their pre-COVID rates either. I would assume the still might be prioritizing high margin builds as they can to maximize $$$ in their pocket.

Nice to see people getting their cars! I have not seen a black one yet? That’s what I ordered.
I am waiting patiently. I intentionally went to the smallest dealer because none of the larger dealerships would play ball with me. They wouldn’t take an order or if they would they were transparent and telling me they were going to market up significantly. I knew that would be the trade-off.

If for some reason I don’t get my vehicle I’ll get my $10,000 deposit back and go to Plan B which could be an Audi RSQ8or a BMW X.3 M competition package. Still- My first choice is this hellcat Durango!

Oh my god. The most I've ever put down on an order was $1,000. I hope you have no issue getting that back should you decide to pull out of the deal.

Not sure what deal is I knew it was mostly lack of knowledge on there part and the price. Will probably be the most expensive single new vehicle they have sold. I knew there allocation was good since they only had one anyway and was day one. Money goes to them anyway and it assured them I am a serious buyer.

I have no intentions of pulling out of the deal. I only mention Plan B in case something goes wrong on their end and they can’t produce my vehicle. I don’t think that’s a problem though because as I said there’s already a Vin number
one problem is it getting stolen before it gets to us. I do wonder if they will replace the stolen / damaged ones or not.

Wanted to give everyone a heads up, really inspect your paint. I just went around mine and found a ton of issues on every single body panel with the hood being the worse. Tried my best on taking photos, but of course it’s really hard to see.

The blue masking tape just shows some of the issues and the photos marked up in yellow try to show specifically the issues themselves.

Some of the issues found: “bumps” flush with the paint, but at the right angle you can see them with some being raised, brownish black spots within the clear coat that also look to have air pockets around them, and clear coat/paint drips.

Also in one spot, I found what looks to be a hair in either the paint or clear coat. It’s in the highlighted box in the next photo

I didn’t really think I had paint issues until you actually get up close and personal to start seeing them.

This Thursday I have an appointment with a local dealership, we’ll see what they say.

Spoke to the dealership I bought it from. Taking it back to them to deal with this weekend. They believe from the description that it is rail dust melted into the clear coat for most of the issues. Makes sense considering the hood is the worse and slowly tapers out from there and is blackish brown spots.

Still a few other issues as well, but they want to take care of it since it’s putting their name on the line for letting issues like that slip through.

No clue yet. Reached out to the purchasing dealership but that’s outside their hours. Most likely won’t get a reply back till Monday as they are closed tomorrow.

I already had an initial appointment with a local dealership because of the clear coat drops on the hood, so this’ll be brought up then too. This’ll definitely be something they can’t deny, they have a major issue during their paint process with too many contaminates.

Time for Sunday Stats, March 28th edition! The reason for the total number discrepancy between the plots is that I have more basic color data from forum/Facebook members than I do verified window stickers or build sheets. Shipping data is based upon visible window stickers. Remember this isn't all inclusive. I don't have access to ALL of the VIN data.

I love a good graph. Thankyou for the hard work of gathering data plots that are not low hanging fruit! The high % for blindspot crosspath option is likely related to some states mandates...My dealer in Pa said I had to have this "option" not negotiable. My build will also be an outlier F8 with mopar stripes....
