The permagrin on his face is hilarious. Really liking the front end more now after seeing it in action.
The DRLs with the integrated amber turn signals is very nice. Of course loving the new dash set up, but why do they insist on black carpet? Shows every speck, drives me nuts, they need to have one the color of dirt.😏 One last thing, it needs bigger wheels and tires because it’s a beast.👹🐈

 

There is a lot of new videos today on this beast. The reviewers are finally allowed to post driving impressions. All of them giggle like little school girls on the reviews. Exciting stuff

Just ordered my 2021 Durango SRT yesterday. It’ll be my daily driver and I’m excited but damn a hellcat Durango would have been sweet. Low as I could get a dealer to go was invoice then whatever rebates are here on arrival.

 

The 392 is a great engine and the overall performance will amaze if this is your first performance SUV.

 

I’ve owned a challenger SRT 392, well two of them anyway and I love the engine. It’s perfect for daily driver IMO. I’ve had 3 hellcats also with latest sitting in garage for days that are nice and need to be driven properly. I take kids to and from school so I want a suv that’s a muscle car. Boooom SRT Durango. Plus The SRT seats are the beat of any dodge vehicle when it comes to support and having back and spine issues.

 

Haha so then the perfect Daily will be the DDHC 😉

 

Of course it does, just comes down to finances. Either way though, kudos to dodge for making this possible. It’s awesome that they have these vehicles to help daily driving fun

Agree. Honestly, would like to have one but I'm in So Cal and will likely get the same tune no matter the dealer. Never did mind chasing a good woman, but a car? lol

Perhaps someone will see this and know of a dealer out West that doesn't feel a need to fleece their customers.

If not, I'll buy another motorcycle, or two.

 

well everything in life is negotiable. You may be able to get that 20k to say 5k...If so then you could bury that in financing. Otherwise I'm sure there are some smaller towns within 3 hours of you that may have less greedy dealer with an allocation..

I'm hoping to get one or two of them before they're gone! DDSRT and hopefully a Jeep truck with one, if it should happen (though I'd rather have the 5.7 in that).

Wife currently has a '15 Citadel V6; love the vehicle and can absolutely see where a big block would be a blast in a Durango. It's fun to drive as it is.

 

Been chasing “allocations” for a DDHC here in the SE region for two weeks and as you can imagine I’ve heard just about everything when it comes to real vs. supposed allocations. I generally and politely request to speak with the gsm when I call as they are the folks who are usually “in the know” but even then I’ve yet to get two dealers to report the same details when it comes to the ordering process. One gsm says no Durango’s allocated for the SE region until January and this includes all trim levels. While some dealers had to order their DDHC the very same day they received their allocation or they would have lost it. Lots of retail orders placed but I suspect many were done so w/o a bonified allocation. I’m working with one dealer with a retail order in BA/BG status (tbc tomorrow) who is awaiting confirmation from the regional representative to authorize my proposed changes to the build. I guess we’ll see soon enough. Reminds me of the time when I ordered my Demon (and waited 11 months until delivery)....

 

I doubt allocations are based on region. I would think they are based on how many years the dealer has been in business and how many cars they sell. But, who knows.
I took about 2 weeks, maybe more, from the point of contacting my salesman to putting the deposit down on my HC. Never once was I rushed or told I could lose the opportunity. I guess I'll find out today if they were able to get the order in. If not, then I'll have to upgrade to the '21 SRT instead. I love the idea of 710HP at my disposal. But won't give in to the greed of some of these dealerships.

Congrats...! Curious to know if your DDHC was allocated or a "non-allocated" order placed in hopes it'd be picked up in the system?

 

I ordered on 11/6 when it opened. My dealer was allotted 2 I got one. I still haven't received a vin.

 

 

Dealer got back to me today with a vin.

 

Just got an update, no new news... Still Status D: Firm Scheduled/serial number assigned. The dealership has a few 392s on order in BX status and they think the hellcat will show up before those do.
