Hi All,

Have an issue, and I need some opinions or even swags.

About 3 months the upper radiator hose came off the connector. I reconnected it and replaced the thermostat.

Also pressure tested the system and found that the radiator cap was faulty so we replaced it. There were no indications of any leaks or other issues with the pressure test.

Unfortunately, the hose blew off again this morning. I had checked the coolant level about 2 weeks ago and it was ok. Car was on maybe 10-15 minutes (driving the kids to school).

Since I'm a very weak shade tree mechanic, I'm not sure where to start with this one. Maybe replace the upper hose assembly?

what year and engine? there are a few different configurations?

Which end comes off, the radiator or the engine end?

The radiator end.

It's very odd to me as well, as the only thing I could think of that would cause that's pressure build up, but with the testing from the last time, I saw no indications of a problem. I'll have to look at the radiator connector more closely and see if there are any issues with it. Didn't have time this morning.

Have you checked that the radiator hose mount hasn't split.

Nope, the Radiator side hasn't split.

But the plastic piece is straight. There's no bead. Is this normal? It looks like it's just sliding straight off.

hi, you might try getting a new spring clamp yours might have weakened causing it to come off?

Toss the spring clamp and use a good screw clamp. A lot of spring clamps are only designed for one use. Take them off and they need to be replaced.

Nope, not a spring clamp on that end. It's a screw clamp.

I think the issue is the missing bead on the radiator outlet. guess I get to replace my radiator.

It should have a small bevel at least! Where did it go does it looked cracked there around the neck
There have been some crazy problems with these hoses as well.
If its been long replace that as well

I got up at 5 am on Sunday Morning just to go out in the garage and change my oil. It was the only Time I had to get it done cause too many Kiddie things had to get done. My neighbor came over walking his Dog around 5:30 and asked if I was a Mental Case? I replied Yes
