We have a '14 Durango R/T with the NAV system. When we first bought the truck the radio would switch to the iphone music when the phone was plugged into the front USD port to charge the phone. Not sure if this is related, but we took the truck in for a recall that I think was related to the UConnect system other electronics, and now we can't play music from the phone when it is plugged into the USB port. The music plays just fine through Bluetooth, but in that case we are not charging the phone. Has anyone run into this problem? We tried both my wife's iPhone 6 and my 5S. They are on different Apple software versions (8.1.1 for 6 and 8.1.3 for 5S). I called UConnect and magically they said the problem is the fact that Dodge doesn't support either version. They do support 8.1.2. I have trouble believing first that Dodge does not support 8.1.1 if it supports 8.1.2 and second that that would cause the problem. Maybe I'm wrong.

I really appreciate any advice you may offer.

Thanks,

Jim

are you using the same cable as before?

I dont know specifically about iphones, but for micro-usb phones - aka - basically every smart phone in the world not made by apple- ;-) - you can have either charge or charge and sync cables. Charge only usb cables will only charge and wont send data to the radio to play music.

no idea if apple has similar thing or not.
