I recently bought a 2000 Durango(5.2L) and the check engine light was triggered for a P0505(Idle Air Control System) I purchased a new valve and replaced it along with cleaning out the port of all the carbon build up. The truck idled fine before replacing the IAC valve...after replacing the old valve and disconnecting the battery the CEL went off and idled fine....after driving 5-15 miles the CEL will kick back on and it would idle at about 1100RPM....I'm unsure what the next step would be...can anyone help? Also I plugged the old Idle air control valve into the harness and left it outside its port and turn my ignition on and the "actuator pin" shot right out of the senser at a high rate of speed....ran the same test with the new IAC vavle and it performed properly.
