New member saying hello.

I have a 2018 Hemi Citadel coming Tuesday of next week. Looking forward to joining the club!

Thanks! Gladly. This is one of the most handsome SUV's on the road imo with all the features to back it up.

Almost went for the BMW X5. The twin-turbo v8 was very enticing... but suspect reliability and high repair costs turned me away.

Considered the new GMC Acadia Denali too. But small dumb things turned me away. For example only the drivers side window is 1-touch up/down, even on the top line Denali trim. And no rain sensing wipers.

Toyed briefly with the idea of a Yukon or Tahoe. But even though I think it's a little younger than the Durango design, it seems older and more dated. And TOO big.

The Volvo XC90 appeared briefly on the radar... but being a Chinese owned company was a turn off. And too much of a "foo-foo" brand.

It's a shame to hear that about the X5. I hope BMW sticks with it and gets it right. When BMW perfects something, it seems to be really really good, but when they don't, breakdowns and big $.

The 5.7, on the other hand, makes me feel pretty good about the D. Seems like quite a few guys with well over 200,000 miles and still going strong.

Welcome to the forum, and add another Floridian to the roster. I think we got 'em outnumbered now. ;)
And I liked the X5 too, but the dealerships around here liked them more than me. Chevy dealership too.
I had to drive all the way to Winter Haven for this SXT, but it was worth it.

Well here she is. After 1,000 miles my expectations are far exceeded. I'm blown away by this car. I feel like it's the one I've been waiting for for a long long time.

I got the Technology package and all of that stuff works fantastically. ACC is a Godsend; holy crap does that ever take the stress away of driving in heavy freeway traffic.

After 10 months, 18,000 miles, two oil changes, and two tire rotations... the Durango has been perfect.

The OEM tires look like they have at least another 18,000 in them, brake pads look like way more.

Never having had an AWD vehicle before I gotta say I'll never go back. Never ever. Idk how the Durango AWD compares to other brands but I'm having a hard time thinking of how it could be any better. This thing is SUPREMELY badass on slick wet roads and in heavy rain. I'm sure some of that credit goes to the OEM tires, which have been exceptional.

One of the reasons I traded my Chrysler 300 for this was Hurricane Irma. When you have one of the strongest cat 5 hurricanes in history projected to be a direct hit on you, your perspective on vehicles changes. Taken to the extreme, it's a life or death proposition that could depend on having a vehicle that can safely evacuate you and your family.

When Irma came through Florida all northbound highways were literally packed full and, more than not, gas stations were empty and closed. The range of my 300 would not have gotten me out of Florida on one tank of fuel but the Durango sure will.

A very happy customer here... ready for the next hurricane!
