I'm a surfer and need to find a way to lock my key fob inside my D while I'm surfing. I would then unlock doors with the actual key part of the fob that I'll keep in a pocket on my wetsuit. So a couple of questions:
1. Is the Key safe to bring in the salt water, or could that corrode the chip that I assume is inside (but I could be wrong).
2. If found a way to lock the fob inside, but not without 3 rounds of 3 horn honks annoying everyone within half a mile.
3. If I do the above, upon unlocking the door with the key, the alarm goes off, which is loud and annoying.
Any solutions that I've missed?
I'm not a fan of hiding the fob. I've had too many friends' cars broken into (and even stolen) after thieves watched them hide the key.
