I'm posting a 2 min video of my drive tonight. I was playing the HK at 32 with all the windows down and sunroof open and it sounded so solid I decided to turn on the video on my phone.

this sound really is THAT good for a stock sound system. we have different opinions on the HK and that's fine. to me the HK is THE BEST stock system I've heard once it is EQ'd properly.

I agree, the system is a good stock system and sounds awesome! You can always upgrade but for me it’s good with no upgrades. I’ve had Alpine and Bose stock, they were good but this HK system sounds better hands down.

The McIntosh in my wifes '22 Grand Cherokee Summit is pretty damn good, but I've got no complaints about the H/K in my Durango.

Dude you’re baked if you think a cell phone recording of your sound system played back on someone else’s cellphone is going to be a good rep of your system 😂 but party on!

davewear, some of us still go online with a laptop.

I get your point. A cell phone recording OR playback isn't the best for sound reproduction. If you're really curious play it on a laptop or desktop.

Not bad sound considering your recorded on your phone and I played back on my iPad, but you did not record long enough so that I could hear the best part of the song when the drums come in! I do like the HK system in my ‘21 DDRT over the Alpine in my ‘12 DDRT.

This proves the HK and ALpine systems are just dropped in without cause to properly tuning the system.
For me, I would not want to drive around in the rain or cold with the windows open to enjoy my $1500 audio system.

63gearhead, seriously, the drum solo in the middle of that song is probably THE BEST drum transition of any song. Phil Collins and Genesis had a very good sound that was all their own.

I did not miss the point I clarified the point. The truck sounds so much better with the windows down, why? The problem is the system was not tuned or not tuned properly.

my point about the windows is that most stock systems will be washed out with the windows down. without the hard reflections off the windows most stock systems will not have the volume or clarity to really push out sound. it takes a pretty good stock system to stay clean and clear at very high volume levels with all windows down.

my HK sounds very good with the windows and sunroof closed. I don't need to go much passed 23-25 volume level in that situation though.

I do agree that we should not have to figure out proper EQ settings on our own. the HK should come from the factory with programming and EQ that puts it to best use. it does not in the Durango's case and that is a fault on Stellantis.

but it is what it is and a lot of us paid good money for the HK. so I'd rather tweak the EQ and enjoy the sound rather than be continually unhappy with my purchase.
