Hiding extra key - is it possible?

Hey there, first time on so if there's an obvious answer, don't go flaming the newbie. I have 2 key fobs for my 2013 Durango, each of course with its own key. I'm wanting to hide a key in a magnetic box somewhere under the car in case of the inevitable lost or misplaced main fob. Clearly I can do this, but the problem is, once I open the car with that extra key, I can't start it (so basically that does me no good). As far as I know, there is no possible way to start the vehicle without a fob. Nor can I put the extra fob in the magnetic box, because its proximity to the front door will not allow me to lock it. Surely I'm not the first one to have this issue. Any ideas? Thanks

You would have to keep a whole key fob in the box but one with a dead battery. The mechanical key gets you in and the dead key fob gets pushed against start button to start.
From manual:
NOTE: In case the ignition switch does not change with the push of a button, the RKE transmitter (Key Fob) may have a low or dead battery. In this situation a back up method can be used to operate the ignition switch. Put the nose side (side opposite of the emergency key) of the Key Fob against the ENGINE START/STOP button and push to operate the ignition switch.

I use a HitchSafe HS7000 for both my vehicles, but you have to have a 2" hitch receiver. As an extra precaution, I keep an unprogrammed key in them so one can gain access to the vehicle but not drive it away. They only time it would fail me is when I'm towing, for obvious reasons. I think they sell on Amazon for roughly $50.00.
