Hi all
I'm looking into purchasing a 2017
Dodge Durango R/T.
It has 40k miles and in good condition and is fully loaded.
Carfax said it was we maintained for being a lease.
My question is when I take it out of park and put it into drive there is like a 2 second hesitation before it engages the gear I select. Is this normal for the 8 cylinder models
or am I looking at a potential transmission issue?

2 seconds like 1,2 or 1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi? If it's the river version it's taking too long.

It should almost instant. By the time I spin the dial to drive she's in gear. Could be the dial, not the trans.

The dial seems a little worn.
That wouldn't be covered under warranty would it?

I certainly would tell them you want that fixed before you sign the paperwork! They shouldn't have an issue fixing it.

The 5/60 powertrain warranty should still be in force, but I don't believe it would cover the shifter/knob. You might make the repair being done as a condition of purchase.
