I was looking in the search found some threads such as Greg wrote about, I was curious if I had the same problem, my front blows hot really nicely while the back seat and 3rd row don't blow hot, Now the ac works really good on all of them. I was curious is that the blend door I believe it's that may be causing the problem. Thanks

your 03 has a very different heater setup than Greg's? the early gen-1's only had rear AC, aove the headliner? the later gen-Is got a full heat/AC setup in the reat quarter panel area.

There have been some reports here of the rear blend door breaking loose from the actuator shaft, IIRC?

You may also have an issue with the booster pump, or a clogged rear heater core.

Alright I can check into those then. See what can be worked out, any ideas how to do so?

I guess I'd start by seeing if you have any temp control at all in the rear.

put the system in a mode with the AC compressor running, and see if the outlet temp changes at all when you change the rear temp setting.

If it doesn't, then you probably have a door problem? if it does, then it might be worthwhile to flush the rear heater core out?

and then check out the booster pump if things still aren't right?

from the FSM:
ELECTRIC COOLANT PUMP
DESCRIPTION
The electric coolant pump is used on all vehicles.
The pump is located under the hood on the right
inner fender well.
OPERATION
The pump is controlled by the HVAC controller and
is only operational under the following conditions:
(1) Vehicle speed below 17 m.p.h.
(2) Coolant temperature above 150? but less than
230 ? F.
(3) Any blower speed setting.
(4) Temperature heat setting above the halfway
setting (60% heat).
(5) The pump will turn off at speeds above 30
m.p.h.
(6) The pump will turn off if the coolant temperature
rises above 230? F.

Don't even think of going there Indy. Temps are dropping to -20F, the D is outside as I"m pouring concrete in the garage to remedy a water problem and the CFO objected to having the Fahrvergnugung parked outside in the snow. And I still don't have heated seats but it's plugged in so at least it's warm and sucking 1500 watts on my electric bill. The good news is? I can't see Russia from here :naughty: :naughty:
