The metallic Raybestos pads on my D have started to squeal badly at low speed, so I'm interested in trying out the Hawk Pads many people here recommend.

I realize the squeal may not have anything to do with the pads, but I don't know and don't want to learn how to service my own brakes and figure it'll just be easier to swap out the pads (the drilled & sloted rotors on my D look fine.)

Anyway, I tried to find a source for the Hawk Pads online but didn't have much success. Anybody know who stocks and sells them for a D?

Servicing the pads is very easy. Rather than the expense of new pads plus labor to have someone do it, remove the pads and apply some anti squeal compound. They'll likely correct the noise for $5 and an hour or so of your time.

I don't "do" brakes. ;-)

Thanks for the source referrals!

I'm a fairly competent driveway mechanic and home repair person, but there are some things I just don't do? brakes and electrical wiring are 2 of them.

FWIW, even though I know that I probably "could" do the work, I don't want to do it and would rather just have someone change out the pads and ask them to apply the "anti-squeal compound" when they do, so that I can "blame them" if things don't work out right.

www.4wheelparts.com sells Hawk and Powerslot, and they've been my favorite store since I started modding my 4wd vehicles. I'm not sure about the price on the pads, but they always have the best prices on wheel and tire packages?
