in the '11 - '13 MY, it lists engine hours, coolant temp., oil temp., ect in the EVIC

I am assuming you can find all the same info with the new '14 display.

 

Our 14 has all of that in the cluster standard except for hours. Wondering what secret stuff they embedded in there?

Was wondering the same thing. On BMW's you can "code" them using the OBD port and unlock dozens of features that are turned off at the factory. Windows up and down with key fob, seatbelt chime off, etc, etc..

 

Yup, on my AMG, Jags,Maxima, mazda, etc, etc I always found some hidden menu in the cluster or the radio. I was able to enter things like Dyno mode, test mode, and even engineering mode where I can fool around with many things that were hidden away from customers.

 

Not sure if this is what you are look for, but there is a host of extra information on the 8.4" Touchscreen.

Here are a few key areas to explore:
Engineering Menu: Hold the driver side temp buttons (Red and Blue) for 5 seconds. Don't make any changes unless you know what you are doing. Hit X to cancel
Dealer Menu: Hold the driver side temp buttons and front defrost button for 5 seconds. Again, don't make changes unless you know what you are doing.
Elevation and GPS coordinates of your current location: In the navigation map, press the current street name listed near the bottom and then hit the GPS button that pops up. It will show your current elevation, coordinates, and strength/number of satellites it is receiving.

I think engine hours is listed in there somewhere.

 

anyone know if these same instructions work for an 11-13 D with the UConnect 530?

or where i can find the "hidden menu" options?

 

i was thinking the same thing, on my Audi S4 i was able to do track timer and few other things.

 

I think if you hit the V.R. button and say "Go Go Gadget", then command, it will do just about anything!

I have never reset trip B on the trip computer so I have the hours and avg mpg for the life of the vehicle

 

on mine it resets automatically after certain count of hours!
