Greetings,

Having some issues with my 14 durango 3.6l limited 2wd. I just got back from a pretty long road trip during the trip I noticed that after filling up the gas tank the durango would be harder to start. It would take several attempts and noticed it would be easier if I gave it gas while trying to start would help it. The vehicle would start, try to idle, then die. It would do this several times and I would have to quickly put it in drive and move the vehicle around the parking lot to help it get more gas and idle better.

On the way home in a particularly windy part of the drive the check engine light came on, I figured it was the evap code that I recently cleared before we left on the trip (new purge valve.)

It was not I found out after we stalled on the highway in the middle of traffic. I got an autozone to have the codes read, I got p0172 and p0175. I was able to get across the street to a mechanic and he ran a diagnostic did a quick check of vacuum lines and got the same codes from earlier. He reset them and with about 4 hours left the CEL came back on. I noticed no drop in MPGs and no real other issues, bogging down, etc. I checked the purge valve, air could be blown through it so I bought a new one. The air filter was pretty dirty (forgot to change out before we left.) I'm trying to figure out where to look next.

Spark plugs were changed about 2 weeks before the trip, along with oil but did forget to change the air filter before we left.

minor edit: hard start is only immediately after filling up with gas. After that, it starts just fine. I tried changing out my 02 senors, only could get to the passenger side and decided just to set an appointment with the mechanic. It's too hot outside to try and do this all day.

I'd have the battery load tested just to make sure it's up to snuff.
Sounds like it's being overfilled, and getting fuel in places it should not be. Are you a one click stopper, or one who goes several clicks past the first?
