*****Latest Update*****

They will be moving forward on making the grille!!!!

*****Updated Info*****
Just talked to Trufiber, after kicking it around they will produce the grille if we get a group buy of 30 pieces. Each participant would need to make 100 deposit and it would take 3-4 months for the first prototype, I would go to the shop and test fit the piece, if and when it meets my high standards (I assure you my standards are very high) they will ok the production which would take another 2-3 months. I'm still trying to get final cost I want it to not only be a perfect piece but a reasonable price. The deposit would be none refundable unless we don't make the 30 participants of the group buy.

I have been dealing with Trufiber for many years and many have talked them into making the next best thing since sliced bread and they end up with a bunch of parts they can't sell which is why the group buy and deposit. I fully understand if the deposit and time frame is too long, at the end of the day I don't see anything on the market worth buying so I personally can and will wait for a part I know will fit and not be a turd.

I will provide more updates in the next couple of days.

Everyone keeps asking me if I would make them a grille, I have a really busy life with work and home so it would take months for me to produce just one. I have a standing relationship with Trufiber, a known manufacture of fiberglass and carbon fiber aftermarket products. On my 300 I have the hood, front lip, grille, rocker panels, side spliters, and rear wing from them, its top quality stuff.

I reached out to them to see if they would be interested in making the grille, they are open to discussions on it but would probably need a group buy on the initial run. This would ensure interest in the part so they don't spend a boat load of money on designing, mold making, and manufacturing just for it to sit on the shelf. This would be a perfect fitting part designed properly.

Would you be interested in a Fiberglass or carbon fiber shell that would replace the stock piece in the below design? (it would not have the mesh or emblem)

This is not a for sale thread or me trying to take any money simply just a thread to gauge interest before pushing down the road.

Hmmm.. Looks like my SXT (sitting in an 8" deep puddle of course), but yeah, I like! Definitely a nice touch!
Please keep us posted on your decision.

I would be interested pending knifepoint. Have held off on the Sonoma due to the quality control issues, but have wanted it for a while...

That looks great!
Not for me as I bought the Citadel for all the extra bling including the grill but I'd be on it if I had a R/T.
thats the joy of after market you can color match the surround and put stainless mesh, it would bling! :)

As the days go by the Sarona is looking worse and worse...

I had an issue with paint reacting with the stock coating on my grille not sure what they use but it pealed all the way down to the plastic, I just started prepping for primer tonight.

I would be interested i group buy as well.
As long as you say quality will be lightyears ahead of sarona

Trufiber is well known for making top quality parts that fit.

So this would be for just the shell? With no insert at all or a different style insert?

I'm definitely down for something like this--I have been since I first saw a couple of you guys doing this--I just don't want to buy a finished product that I then have to send to another body shop to have my insert of choice installed.

If I wanted to have a body shop fix a newly purchased finished product I'd buy the Sarona pieces.

I'm familiar with Trufiber from the LXs so I don't doubt it'll be good quality. Thanks for pushing forward on this!

Problem is if you offer it with mesh 95% of the people want some other kind of mesh so its a waste of money that drives the price up, with just the shell you get a nice clean perfect fitting part you add what you like and call it a day. I'm hoping to open a door with them to create parts... Grille, hood, mirrors, rockers, etc.

Sure, I can see that. I'm still in.

I'd be in, but, I'm concerned with the price.

If this is in the several hundred dollar range, I'm probably out.

Especially if it is a shell, that means more work + money for me, so, if a mesh was an option for extra money, I'd do that.

I will be headed out to Trufiber either this week or early next week to show them the grille, my goal will be a piece that will bolt right in place of the factory unit hopefully keeping the price point down. I will talk to them about price as well.

If I provide my grille they said they can have a prototype within 6 to 8 weeks for test fit, once the part is test fit they will make a full run to fill any group buy and have stock on hand. If you have any question or concerns you want me to address please let me know I will try to get them answered.
