I’ve got a VIN for our TnG on order, so I’m just hoping to see it before Thanksgiving. The plant was shut down last week and this week as well, so that’s bound to put a crunch on production of 21s, especially with ‘22 production supposed to start late November/early December.

Once a VIN has been assigned, I believe it’s a guaranteed build, but time frame is another thing altogether.

They will. They can't do the new ones without stopping the old ones.

Anything is possible. I wouldn't be surprised if '22 models are pushed back. Seeing they are STILL accepting 2021 Durango orders. If there are anymore production shutdowns i can't even imagine a delay in '22s and extension of '21 build schedule not happening.
I'm at week 11. In the e-mail when i received my VIN, they gave a delivery date for the week of October 19th. I'm skeptical. I've only done chat once to inquire over a month ago and was told it was in scheduling waiting for parts. I'm going to be more aggressive and start inquiring a few times a week.

Something maybe of interest to others that i did learn recently. Automakers are using Global Express (and probably others) to fly semiconductors in from China. 2 crews, one flys over and the other crew flies back. 24hr turnaround. Cost is about $100k/trip.

We are in totally uncharted territory right now and things are not looking good for the future.

None of my dealers will oder a 21, and they say 22s are not open yet, just stuck here in limbo with my 18 RT. Grrrrr

21 ordering being closed doesn't surprise me. what was amazing is that they were taking 21 orders so far into October.

in a normal year they would have cut off ordering for that MY in what, June or July?

and I bet the factory booked a lot of orders the last couple months and they are singularly focused on getting those built and out.

hopefully, ordering will open up for you soon.

is that 7-8 more weeks including stripes and delivery? or 7-8 more weeks to finish building?

I'm sure they're postponing 2022's until the 2021's are done. first, they don't really have a choice. parts ARE limited. they don't have enough parts to even plan both yet. and they'd be fools beyond fools to cancel the 2021 orders and throw away the money. and dealers would SCREAM over a move like that.

also, that new Mopar 2022 Durango snake oil (my take) model they just announced says orders taken in early 2022 with deliveries expected Summer 2022. they have this cool new model they are promoting like crazy, which will be simple to knock out because its only 250 units and won't start building til spring?

they know the rest of this year (at least) is already taken with 2021 MY production.

It definitely seems like TnGs have been a long wait. However, it does seem like a handful of us waited close to the 3/4 ish month mark. Im hopeful you’ll see it within in a month.

FROM The chat line: (Slightly Altered)
Maurice (11/8/2021, 2:37:18 PM): Hello Helfriez, how can I help today?

Maurice: Congratulations on the purchase! If you confirm your vehicle identification number, address, telephone number, and email associated with the order, I will be more than happy to look into this for you.

Me: 1H%WM@CHM4RYF3RGS0NL$NGER77, (redacted)

Maurice: Thank you for confirming your order information, I am looking into your vehicle order status now. You have made a great choice going with a new Dodge!

Me: ok

Maurice: Thank you so much for holding, I appreciate your patience. I am showing as of 12 Nvr 2021, all of the materials needed to start the build process have been received and your vehicle is waiting for its turn in the assembly line. The vehicle will be entering the build process very soon. At this time, we can suggest checking back later this week for an update. Congratulations again on the purchase! We appreciate having you in the Dodge family

Me: thank you. is there a date, or Year attached to completion?

Maurice: Great question! I do see your order entered the D1 stage on 12 Nvr 2021. Most orders are built within 30 days of reaching this stage. Regarding an actual ETA; At Customer Care we will not have any ETAs until after the vehicle has shipped. For any ETAs during the factory process, please reach out to your ordering dealership.

Me: OK. thank you Maurice

It’s either still on the line or finished then. Unless you ordered stripes, should be released for shipping in the next couple of days. I’m basing this off my recent experience as well as others.

ITS HERE!!!! A mere 96 days after ordering, the dealer called to say that my vehicle now in PDI.

Got the Autobody wizard revved up to be another set of eyes for MY walkaround; spoke to the CU that financed the Challenger, got approval; and, lined up AutoNation, Vroom, CarMax, and Carvana to find the best price offer for said Chall (see Avatar).

NOW the real work begins.
