Now seeing it in a live situation, for me it looks no more than a Magnum crossover.

I think it looks more like a Gen1 than the Gen2 actually.

That's because essentially nobody in the US will buy something called an "SUV" today, whereas "crossover" is today's hot item.

They'd call it "maple walnut" if they thought that would sell more vehicles.

 

Now if they called it Ben and Jerry's Phish Food I may be the first in line.

Ok, a marketing trick. But is it really an SUV?

 

I'll have to wait and see it in person.

 

The problem is the industry is so confused it doesn't know what it's doing. There are new models that are definitely crossovers but are called SUV's. How's the public supposed to really know? This time you can't blame the public for the confusion. It's all on the marketing guys.

I think the video ones look "softer" than the black one in the night & urban photo images. As much as I like black for the first 32 minutes after a wash, I really hope to not have to settle for black just to get the "stud" look for the D.

Neighbor got a new JGC last weekend.
He actually let me drive it and I'll say it rides exceptionally well, very solid ride and great road manners.
I looked at the underpinnings and it has the same suspension design as the older Cherokee, which in the front will limit certain wheel and tire combos, offsets due to strut configuration in there.

Not sure if anyone caught it but, during the Virgina Beach 1/2 Marathon that the Gen 3 Durango was featured in, they had a fatality of one of the runners. Sticker shock probably.

An SUV? NOT with that low clearance! This it truly a street machine and not a SUV trail romper like the others. I'm sorely disappointed? enough that I might go looking for a Wrangler Unlimited.

Get the Jeep version of the Durango (or is it a Durango version of the Jeep) and it has a new on-the-fly changeable air lift suspension to change the height from sport (low) to street (regular) to off road (high)
