Found this prize on eBay, it was listed just today.

1999 Dodge Shelby Durango SP 360 4x4 #176

There are many good pictures of this D. I didn't know they had Kenne Belle Superchargers on the Shelbys. I thought all they had were a little handling, chip and show mods like the R/Ts. This one looks to be a real screamer. Since I can't have it, here's hoping a DOCer can.

It wasn't sold at $12,569.60 after 27 bids.

At least this one has the Stillen Brakes on it.

That 360HP/414TQ rating, is that off the crank?
The 140mph is that a true top speed or estimate? I didn't think that was possible with Durango gearing.
Same with the 0-60 in 6.4secs, is that an estimate or a real clock time?
With those kind of numbers, I'm thinking it had to be running in 2WD.

Funny thing. My wife and I were talking yesterday and she said if we get another one it'd have to be a matching one to the R/T that I have now. I bet I could persuade her if this is as bad as labeled.

Here's the link to the specs. Sure looks that way.

Steve, if you're looking for one, this Shelby is the best I have seen. The extra low miles on this makes it almost brand new. Based on the sale prices on the other Shelbys, I'd estimate a sale price of $24k when this auction is over.

Here's another blue '99 Shelby D on eBay. He shows a pic of the factory sticker at $69,995?!?!?

However

This one is no longer stock? not even close. The interior is okay I guess, until you get to the hideous sub box in the back. Yuck.

And the engine looks like there's a 2nd battery, perhaps for all the center console switches. Dunno.

Finally, he's out of his mind with the price he's asking? regardless of what he has ruined? er? put into it.

A gamecube?! LOL

Well, for standards testing, we should be able to use the photos below as indications on official placement of Shelby SP360 badges, etc. I was real suprised to see them on the back door. I'm thinking they were applied without specification as long as they were there.

After reading through the info on the pages, I wonder why couldn't '98-'02 Ds order the Shelby brake setup for the rears via Dodge/Mopar. One would think the dealer would have all the necessary order info on file? Seems logical to me (as opposed to getting something close with Stillen's aftermarket stuff.) And I wonder what slotted and vented rotors do they refer to?

Well, since I've had the same Stillen AP-6 Big Brake upgrade on my D since Oct 99, I can answer some of that.

The aftermarket kits sold by Stillen in 98/99 were exactly the same as what was used to convert a stock D into a Shelby SP-360 (as the article points out, Shelby Ds came "stock from the factory" and were sent to one of two locations in the US for "conversion" into an SP-360 for final delivery to the customer.) I say the kits "were" the same because one of our fellow D owners upgraded his D to the Stillen AP-6 Big Brake kit recently and Stillen has made a few design changes to it since 98/99 (different pads, slightly different mounting method for the calipers, etc.)

The front slotted/vented rotors are Brembo.

Image

I know this because when I finally had to replace my front ones a few years ago, the new ones came from Stillen in a Brembo box with a Brembo part # on it and where an exact match to the old worn out ones.

As for the rear slotted/vented rotors.

Image

No idea who makes them as I'm still using the originals (as long as the slots are visible, I figure there's no need to replace them) and the kit as originally delivered was in 4 boxes with Stillen logs on them. I seem to remember there was something stamped into the face of the rotor (visible in the above pic) that may be the manufacturer's name but don't remember what it said now. :? Next time I rotate my tires, I'll take a look and see what it says.

I can tell ya the rear calipers and pads are the same ones GM used on the C5 Vette (got that little tidbit straight from a phone call to a Stillen Brake Pro tech.) That makes finding replacement pads (or a caliper if I ever need one) real easy! I can also say with certainty the rotors are not the same ones the Vette uses because I visually checked a C5 Vette rotor at a local parts place and it didn't have the "mini-drum" cast into the rear that's used for my e-brake.

Finally, when I checked back in 2003, parts for the Stillen brakes used on the Shelby Ds were not available thru DC dealers nor Mopar (I tried to order new front rotors from a local dealer and was told I'd have to contact Stillen directly.) Heck, their computerized parts catalog didn't even show the Shelby SP-360 as a D variant? much less list any parts for it!!

Warning, shameless plug alert :cheesy:

Further info about my D and the mods I've made to it can be found at my web site Big Al's Durango

RIP #195

I saw this on another forum. RIP #195. Ouch! Some folks obviously can't handle the Power. Interestingly we reviewed #193 earlier in this post. Practically twins and based on what I saw at the plant tour, produced only minutes apart most likely.

OMG that thing got hit so hard it broke the rim off the star pattern instead of breaking the hub bolts?wtf lol.

#36 ·
Not the strongest rims, are they.
Looks like it hit something in the front and the whole thing slide to the right, hit the curb, and rolled on to it side.

Well

That's a twisted piece of Scrap at this point in its life what a shame!

Here's number 180. 1999 Dodge : Durango Shelby SC360

Asking $21K, bids at less than $11k now.

BTW, This thread has 2 unnumbered/no photo listings (my bad, I'll do better, wasn't thinking about the future and the historian aspect of the tracking in years to come) and has captured for prosperity the following Shelby D #s:

129
176
180
193
195

That's a nice start I think.
