There was much discussion at the plant tour as to where to have future events/gatherings/meets. Please post your ideas here. If there's something local in your area post it here with details.

LoundRango (Don) suggested the Mopar Nats out in Long Island (if memory serves) as well as the Nopi Nats in Georgia. Prez Steve knows that Steve from Dak-Dur.com is planning something again at Indianapolis Speedway which we could consider as well.

Post your ideas!!

I was comparing 2 different style EVENTS!
Not everyone for all D Events is going to wanna stand around and Stare at Trucks all Day some may want a different style event. with more interaction!
Besides who out of the rest of us can Compete with all the $$$ you put into your D for shows? Not This Guy fo Sho!

I still have you beat in a lot of ways LOL
But once you attend some shows and start racking up Plastic Dust collectors like I did and Plaques that are only allowed to hang in Garage. You'll catch up. As for Post count I just have constantly kept involved since I came on board in 01!!

Rest assured folks there'll many great events in the future.
The input you're providing is Great to help us determine where the next events shall be. When you come to Events you can witness in person the types of chastising you see here on line!! Its Fun Really LOL
We all Have a Great Time whereve we go

I'm assuming that Blue Ridge and the STF have something to do with each other??
I thought at a glance read that you were telling someone to STF U, LOL :bugeyed: Had it been so? I was thinking up something about at least their truck runs :bugeyed: (the abuse contines :) )

I'm in for the Summit car show (5 hours from me) *OR/AND* Ashville/Biltmore (7 hours from me.) I'd love to do the BRP, it's just headed off the wrong direction. With the beautiful country around Biltmore, I'm sure I can work up a nice 2 hour senic drive for us one way or the other.

The BRP is over 400 miles long, but you can cruise a portion of it near Asheville. The Southern Terminus is just outside of Cherokee, NC on the South side of Smoky Mtn Nat'l Park. The North end joins with Skyline Dr at Shenandoah Nat'l Park. If you go that way Indy, you can pick up I-64 and head West from there to get home. If we make that trip, we'll head South on I-81, pick up Skyline Dr near Winchester, VA, and follow it all the way to Asheville. Unless we've got the trailer, in which case we'll re-route a little.

Kool. Thanks Joe.

I was just reading the Tail of the Dragon site. Part of me wants to see the road and the sights, the other part of me isn't interested in having to handle the D for 300+ curves over 11 miles in any sort of dangerous conditions. I have good brakes, some have better brakes, most have stock brakes on their Ds so dunno if as a pack that would be a good thing to go it as a group or not. Maybe I need to stay off of roller coasters now too at 40! Ouch!!

I agree Indy
My Brakes are Great but they could be taxed very heavily on that ride but I'm Game if that's where we head.
Man I miss my Sportbike!
I think That's a Great Area to see things

Hi Joe, I ran up I-81 earlier this year, and is it correct that you can jump on and off the BRP? Regarding the dragon, I'm sure the locals wouldn't mind a civilized sane group of trucks coming through there. I really like this idea. I want to show my family the country a little at a time, and I think I could do this as long as school is out.

what dangerous conditions are you expecting? I drove the BRP on our way back from TN this year. it was beautiful. it wasn't that treacherous that I can remember?
No doubt?bunch of girlie boys.

BRP isn't the Tail of the Dragon. The tail is a side journey with known deaths occurring there due to the conditions.

As for the other commentor? we only accept input from those owners who actually attend events.

TRUE VERY TRUE!
YOUR POEM GETS YOU ONE INPUT! ;)

My brakes were taxed on BRP, because we were nose to tail with 2 Z28's and a Mustang GT, with me in the middle.

At the normal speed limit everyone would be fine.

I wasn't going to let some punk kid's show me up, and one of them caught up with me later in the week and was impressed that the D could hang with them.

Also if you do BRP, there's the stop in Mayberry for all the old folks.

I don't even know if they have a class that we'd fit into, but for many many years I have wanted to go to the Car Craft Summer Nationals, which are held in St Paul Minn, other than a meet and car show, there are lots of other things to do at the event. John could enter his D in the Dyno shootout. :)

Just a thought.

They have Dyno's for trucks that don't run! :cheesy:
