So got me factory hitch installed on my 2014 limited D.
When I was looking for videos on youtube I did not find single instruction video about factory hitch install on 2011-2015 D, and so I made one.
It's probably not something you want to watch for fun, I went in details on that for someone who is looking for help in this area, but I think it came out ok.

So if you need help installing factory D hitch, here you go, use it and I hope it helps.

About the cover, I mention in the video you need to go to your local dealer or get it online, my local dodge dealer has cheaper price and in stock than I can order online, store, I got it from them and I did not have to wait...

About wiring harnest, I did make a comment in the video about installing it on the correct side after I installed it on the wrong side, LOL. So the Curt 56198 need to be installed on the PASSENGER side, not the driver. I did not want to take bumper cover off again so I just swapped left and right side turn signals wires near the trailer hitch plug, easy fix.

Does installing this wiring harness require the dealer to 'activate' it? Some other folks who try to install the OEM harness do talk about the need to go the dealer to have it activated.

Well done, Pete - very informative. It's on my list of things to do, and your video really helps explain the process.

But your hitch came in a box? I ordered it through Amazon from a dealer, and I came home from work one day to find it sitting at the front door (via UPS, I think) unpackaged, with just a shipping label stuck to it. Fortunately, no scrapes or dings, but not exactly what I was expecting.

I was talking about the wires that was hanging out the back end, where the hitch connector would go, not the ones that go into the tail lights. but thank you
I don't think the aftermarket 4-pin connector could be plugged in into the OEM plug. I wish there was a way to somehow incorporate this, however, since my gripe with the aftermarket set up is this loose wire one needs to deal with. At least on the Durangos there is a covert to hide the plug when not in use but I wonder how to hide it when, for example, one is to install just a bike rack. SuperPete; how do you manage that 4 pin plug on your Durango?

Sure, here is how I do it, and yes, I use bike rack allot.

Photo 1, lots of wire exposed to show you how I protected wire with wire wrap and some electrical tape.

Photo 2, connector plug wrapped around the hole, thats how I carry on every day when I have bumper cover on it.

Photo 3, I wire plug inside of the hitch when I put bike rack on it, or you can have is as photo 2, what ever you like, but it's black and not standing out at all.

So I installed this last night, however I do have a question. I don't know if its because I have an R/T or what. The lower part of the bumper that you take the 2 10mm screws out. On the hitch, there are "holes" that line up with the bumper tabs. However the screw is too small ??? Did you run into this? Hopefully that makes sense.
