Gerik, Leave, go, retrieve the winch later!

I want to see pics of Pres in his Farmington Mopars in the Park bird suit? on second thought, with yesterday's over heating issue, no bird costume.

But do post more live/event photos as the day progresses for those of us unable to partake!

No bird suit
That girl wandered into our area. She looked a bit distressed so we took her in like an orphaned Kitten.

Here kitty, kitty Note, it's my truck but who's missing.

Maybe she wasn't distressed but distracted by all those fine looking early arriving D's and decided to stop by. BTW, has anyone heard what they're calling for tomorrow in central PA? It's supposed to rain in the afternoon around the Philly area.

Radar looks like the last of the rain is just about through.

video: Driving in to carlisle. Kinda fun watching the cars at the light (sorry about the reflection of the gorillapod in the windshield and the occasional video stutter.)

Well, it's not over yet, but some thoughts about this years event:

Great show, great group. Lots of people stopping by and yakkin' about the vehicles; different, I think, from a lot of the other groups and classes because the DOC members just ooze enthusiasm for their vehicles even to people who have a purely casual interest, or even no interest at all. You really get the feeling that the D's aren't out there for each other, but rather for the other 2200+ participants and untold thousands of visitors.

Good level of ass-bustin' and keepin' people on their toes without ever getting nasty. It's really great to spend time with the DOC family, and in a way where it's not all compressed in time. There's a whole weekend and at any point in time there were several groups of people doing different things (working the crowd at the vehicles, walking the showfield, hanging around the tent and shootin' the bull, etc., etc.), and each person did what they wanted to do when they wanted to do it. It's quite a bit less focused than the plant tours were, but there's so much more to do and so much more space to do it in.

Wonderful food. Kinda interesting because certain other groups have quite a pageant about their food, but I don't think there was a better lunch to be had on the grounds either day. A variety of stuff from everybody, completely shared, and some surprises (real charcoal, ultra-fresh scallops, and even cake) - eaten together as a group - really made it feel like a special event.

Lots of participation, both in the D class (hard to get an exact count, because some didn't park with the correct group, but my guess is 21 so the DOC was maybe 2/3 of the total) and in the overall show (a record-breaking number of showfield participants, they were up over 2200 last I heard and were still not done with the tally - it's a little hard to comprehend how many display vehicles that's.)

I didn't take as many pix this year as last, I was more just enjoying the show. Way too much to see in two days.

Once again this year, worth the trip.

I so agree with Tom. Excellent show as always and nice to be among friends and have that lovely oasis? even though the only way out was UP.

Mike, still hope by a act of God or Prez they find your bag? just hope the pulley doesn't get passed around too often.

As for pics Tom, I know between Zen, FCT and myself, we have somewhere around 500 to work on (over 300 are mine) so please be patient. I just downloaded the pics, but have to go visit the dreadmill to keep burning off the HOOTERS calories and I also have a patient here to deal with? doing better just wants out of the house and can't drive. :naughty:

Same time next year guys. To everybody not home yet, BE SAFE!!

Nice write-up Tom.

Railnut, Yep, just getting an opportunity today to process last weekend's photographs' raw data files. All while the Little Voman works. Can't wait to see more pic of the DOC at Carlisle. Thank in advance for sharing them!

If it's going to rain, have that girl stay around. Hey she wouldn't have to change either. I think she'd look good all wet in what she's wearing. :cheesy:
