Hey guys… I have noticed this couple of time, it is not always happening when I turn it on, but today I had to record a video to have a proof of the noise. Is this normal or should I worry? Car has only 400 miles on it.

If you drove 5-7 miles with the engine at super high RPMS the trans will shift it you get to redline even if using the shifters (or not) as a safety feature. But if you drove around 4k-5k for that many miles and your engine was not even broken in, NOT good and I bet you did some internal engine damage. Let the dealer look at it and fix it.

Is that a serious issue?
They need to keep the car for 1 day for diagnostic. I had to rent a car in Turo. If they figure out this is a warranty job, maybe the warranty could pay me a rent for more days, because it's around 1-2 weeks. 1-2 weeks without my car 😩 😟

The guy (not a technician) barely heard the noise (sometimes it happens) and he told me that maybe they could say to keep driving it with that noise and if it gets worse, then come back. Should I insist that I want them to find what is causing that noise and fix it?

But a broken valve spring should be noisy at the top when you remove the engine cover. The ticking noise is at the bottom, on the passenger side. About bad mileage, well, there is a stoplight every 1/2 mile or less. But yeah, it's staying between 11.6 and 12.6... I don't know. Let's see what they figure out tomorrow. It could be nothing, could be an entire engine replacement.

Listen to the noise one day, and another day you can barely hear it (DDRT normal engine sound.)

Do I recall correctly that your D has very low miles? Not that it should matter, but if you had an appointment, this "dealer" should have provided you a loaner. They also should have gotten your car in, if not that day, the next morning. Sitting for 3 days, if you had an appointment! What the HELL is an appointment for then?

I think I'd be finding another dealer, one who understands the concept of customer service. It sounds like this one is run by politicians.

Yes Don, I will change the dealer. I have no words.
$547.82 for 7 days of rental. Almost one month of my Durango payment, and still nothing.

At that low mileage, since you have documented your concerns, I think I would let it ride a while. Re the rental, I think I would give the corporate folks an earful, and let them know how pissed you are that this dealer kept your car so long, with out offering you a rental. Possibly they might share some or all of the cost with you.
