Hey all so I am out of money and ideas on how to fix this issue.
Story time-
-2 years ago a head gasket blew. We didnt have money to fix it.
-August 2025- we have enough money to replace the engine since the quotes we were getting was that it was going to be 8k+ to repair the head. Engine swap was $5k.

-we went with a local mechanic. It came back eith blown headlights, no front Motor blower and damage clips on the radiator because he hard-wired in the engine fan instead of doing the relay.

-mechanic ghosted us.

-tow it to the dealership. We could only afford 2300 if the 5700 quoted in repairs to make the car run. The ones left were
---replace the PDC (fuse box) because it was shorted out all throughout.
---replace the front Motor blower and power module(?)( just what the report said, after googling it looks like it was the resistor?

-bought the parts for the PDC and front Motor blower. New PDC wont communicate at all enough to even start. Everything is black.

-put the old PDC in and now it does this crazy light and warnings thing (see videos).

Soft reset I have tried is pushing the start button 2x, waiting 12 seconds and then turning it off. Car wont turn off.

Hard reset - tried this by disconnecting the batteries and having the positive ans negative connection s touch to drain the capacitors. Didn't work.

What do I try next? Please help.... I cant afford mechanic and this is my daily. I have jov interviews coming up I need to be able to get to. (Yes I also have friends lined up to help with rides so Im not totally fish out of water but Im struggling. )

Thabk you

A few questions:

Prior to changing out the Power Distribution Center (PDC), did you disconnect the negative battery cable?

Was the PDC brand new?

Do you have a OBD scan tool as I see the check engine light is on?
Yes before the PDC was removed the positive and negative were disconnected per the installation instructions that came with the PDC.

Yes PDC is new. I know the VIN is supposed to be flashed to it. I was told by the vendor that they do it before it ships.

I do not have an OBD tool but I have a friend coming out today to use his.

Before you do anything else, how old are the batteries? If they are the originals, trash them and buy new ones.
If not, have both of them properly load tested and replace both if either one comes back less than 100%.

I heard it start in the first video. The engine and starter sounds great. Remove the negative battery cable from both batteries, press the brake pedal 30 seconds, then reconnect, start it, and touch nothing for 5 minutes.
Do this please and report back to what you have.

Hi Don i tried this and it did the same thing. I examined the old PDC vs the New one and thr new one is missing connections for thr PCM and dual battery control. So I am working with customer service for the replacement part for an exchange. Im gonna also look into replacing both batteries as one of the comments below suggested

You do need to replace both batteries at the same time. They work together.
