A side note. I traded around my schedule and got myself a few more hours at Woodward. So, instead of working Thursday morning and leaving from work to get in around 6:00PM, I'm working tomorrow night and leaving late Thursday morning basically getting in around early afternoon Thursday. I might make that eight mile pawn shop tour after all.

I'm here today and the wash area is in front of the hotel, it'll make cool photo area! There's also an area roped off for us that's room side so you should be able to see your truck from your room.

If anybody needs me or needs something, PM me and I'll give you my cell number.

In Buffalo (Grand Island) as I type, sitting on the balcony of my room overlooking the Niagara River, eating pizza, drinking wine, and watching the boats.

The hotel internet is down and Larry, Moe, and Curly at the front desk (ably assisted by Stan and Ollie at the ISP) don't seem to be making much headway with it. But, from the 6th-floor balcony with a decent radio, there are a lot of other choices for 'service' (thank heavens nobody reads the instruction manuals for their wireless routers!)

I should be getting into Detroit around noon, but I'm planning to hit the Henry Ford Museum before heading up to Auburn Hills. We'll connect up somehow.

Some prequel pics of the madness that's Woodward still to come on Saturday. hehe :)Note: kinda hard to shoot and drive at the same time. I couldn't find the Technicolor place though. Going south on Woodward which side of the street is it on??

I got some light car wash supplies today, soap mitts, bucket, etc. I do need to hit a spray wash where I can hose down the engine bay again, but other than that, I'm ready to go.

Also, for those of you coming along the OH Turnpike through Toledo area, making my plug for Tony Packos Hungarian Hot Dogs. Either while en-route to Detroit or on you way back, you gotta try it!

Arrival Time

Rob, it's pretty much a straight shot down I-75.
  • Start at 1500 N Opdyke Rd, Auburn Hills going toward University Dr - go 0.1 mi
Turn Left on University Dr - go < 0.1 mi
Take ramp onto I-75 S toward Detroit - go 25.9 mi
    Take exit #53B/Ford Fwy/Port Huron/Chicago onto I-94 E toward Port Huron - go 4.4 mi
Take exit #220B/Conner Ave/City Airport onto Conner St - go 2.2 mi
Arrive at 2101 Conner St, Detroit, on the Right
I'll be coming in late on Thursday night and will meet you at the hotel at 7:15am for the 7:30am rollout Friday. I'll be coming in from Novi, so I'll leave around 6:15am; the traffic can get a little hairy. :)

Jen will have to watch the boys for the tour as her sister will be working Friday. I'll pick them up and meet up with you all again at the lunch/museum.
