The Details:
The Durango Owners Club (the DOC), as the premier Durango Owners Club in the World, has had an annual Plant Tour in Newark, Delaware at the Chrysler Assembly Plant where every Durango ever created was "birthed" from 1998-2009. While there was no Durango for 2010, Chrysler was busy working behind the scenes creating the all-new 2011 Durango.
The Durango Owners Club is pleased to announce and invite all of our International and Domestic members to join us for FREE for a return to the new home of the Durango? this time in Detroit at the Chrysler Jefferson North Assembly Plant (JNAP) :!: Our return tour to the birthplace of the Durango starts at the JNAP facility at 9am sharp, Friday August 19th, 2011. We'll assemble at the club hotel headquarters (details below) to roll-out at 7:30AM sharp.

But wait, there's more!!
After the 9AM tour is complete, you're invited to join us for lunch and a Durango Owners tour of the
Walter P. Chrysler Museum :!:
Tour tickets are $4 each and the museum is packed with history and bling from decades of all-things Chrysler. We'll commence the visit with a photo shoot in the parking area of the museum for some once in a lifetime Durango Owners Club group photography.
But wait, there's even more!!
The Durango Owners Club has been invited as guests to the plant
Woodward Dream Cruise :!: After an action packed Friday at the plant tour and museum visit, we'll enjoy some dinner, local festivities, and then the evening festivities of the night before the big day of the Dream Cruise!
We'll be setup in a great spot on the avenue taking in all the sights, sounds and smells of the cruise. Bring your lawn chairs and sun screen!
What's the
Woodward Dream Cruise? It's the world's largest one-day celebration of classic car culture that attracts over 1 million visitors and more than 40,000 muscle cars, street rods, custom, collector and special interest vehicles.
It officially takes place each year on the third Saturday in August between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. Those in the know have learned that the events start as early as Wednesday and extend thru Sunday so we should see plenty on Friday evening and all day Saturday.
The Dream Cruise takes place along a 16-mile stretch of the legendary Woodward Avenue through eight host communities including Berkley, Bloomfield Hills, Bloomfield Township, Ferndale, Huntington Woods, Pleasant Ridge, Pontiac and Royal Oak, in Southeast Michigan.
But wait, there's more still!!
With the huge crowds that pilgrimage to the greater Detroit area for the Woodward Dream Cruise, lodging can be a challenge. The Durango Owners Club has setup special arrangements for lodging at the
Crowne Plaza Hotel for all Club member attendees :!:
In order to get the hotel package, all registered DOC members attending the plant tour and/or Woodward and needing Hotel lodging can PM IndyDurango here at the DOC for special low rates and the club's access code to mention when booking your room.
You're invited :!:
A very special
"Thank You" to all of the DOC members who helped put the many parts of this event all together. :!: It's been my privilege to make this announcement (and to watch you squirm waiting for the details to go public. :cheesy: )
What :? You want to be part of this fantastic weekend and you're not yet a DOC member?
We can fix that.
Check here to submit your app and you're all set :right:
