Durango R/T Tow N Go exhaust sound when towing

Hi all, I'm considering the purchase of a new Tow N Go. I love the sound, but my wife is concerned that the exhaust will be too loud and/or an annoying drone when towing a travel trailer on the highway for hours. Not towing, she's happy that it's quiet at highway speeds. But I can't replicate towing in a test drive. Can anyone comment on this? Is it quiet on flat highways (think I-80 through Nebraska)? Does it just get loud when pulling in the mountains? Thanks!

@rkoskier the Tow N Go also has the ANC (Active Noise Cancelling) feature that activates only during Tow mode. I haven't towed with mine yet so I can't comment on how effective it is, but the TNG has that feature from the SRT solely for this reason.

I've had my TNG for 9 months now and done everything with it except tow. you'll love the TNG. its great on long trips and is an absolute blast to drive around town. I have never found the exhaust too loud.

@rkoskier the Durango Tow N Go is probably the most sleeper package going right now. I've seen many people even on this forum state they didn't know about it until after they had bought/ordered.

I'm also on the RDF (Radar Detector Forum) and we were posting about various Dodge vehicles and a member was saying they couldn't find the TNG option on the Dodge website. of course it was as simple as selecting AWD for the R/T first and they the TNG package shows up. but think of how many people never catch that.

My experience is my TNG is louder than my ‘12 DD RT. I agree with the consensus in that it will be louder under a load and up grades, but quiets down on flat roads.

I tow a couple times a year with my wife in the car, and I receive no complaints. It is usually when I am not towing and I put my foot into it that I get a lecture.
