Crank n crank but no start 2017 3.6

So I've narrowed it down to the fuel pump is not priming when ignition is turned on. When I dropped the tank I decided to turn on ignition and the damn pump kicked on. I replaced the pump anyways since I was halfway into it. Ran and started good for a week n same issue returns. Let it sit for a month n it might start n run for another week before same issue reappears. Any suggestion on what would prevent the pump from initial prime?

MM:
Since you have replace the pump, your issue has to be lack of power to the pump when the issue appears.
The Gen 3 Durango has had its share of fuel circuit relay issues for sure. From what I understand, dropping the tank is a PIA! I would hold onto the old pump for a spare, as it is probably good.

Don't forget to check the fuse 52. Although IIRC there is a fuse in the battery area as well.

BTW if you want to know more about ESS, check out the PDF here.

Test it and ohm it out if you can get it out of the circuit to do so.

So pre-2014 jeeps and durangos suffered from bad relays that were not serviceable as they were soldered on the TIPM PCB. Then there was a TSB for chargers/challenger up to 2016 where FCA changed the harness/connector to the fuel pump due to bad connection (power/ground contact would melt the fuel hat). I have not seen any TSBs for the 2017 durangos and the wiring is pretty straight forward. If the relay and fuse are good and there is a signal from the PCM the pump should run. Now if it has enough pressure...that is a different story.

Do you get any fuel pressure? Unfortunately to check you would need something like this.

If it were me, I would verify that the relay is getting voltage from the PCM and that the fuel pump is getting voltage. If not, then it is electrical problem. If yes then it is the aftermarket pump. I do my own stunts, tell my own jokes and fix my own cars so "sending it to a dealership" is not in my vocabulary.

My guess is the pump is the issue. Repop pumps, like sensors and thermostats, aren't very good. Try priming it by pressing the start button with no brake for a few seconds. Then if it starts with the brake / Start button then it's the fuel pump not holding it's pressure.
