Called the dealer and you have to buy the whole thing, so I did. Ugg
I'll most definitely keep the cracked one for a backup. It's all I focus on when looking at the tailgate. I'm hoping to get the new one in a day or so and replace it.JJJ:
Sorry to hear of your luck on this. Maybe try to somehow seal up the damaged one, and keep it as a back up? From what I see, it does not look broken, as much as just cracked. How about a piece of clear contact paper, or similar?

I read somewhere you can take them apart so I guess that would be plausible.I wonder if the lighting in the cracked one could be transferred to a unit with the water damage.
You needed the tools listed on my post to reach in and pop the clips . Yes mine cracked too I used some sound deading material on the inside to fix the crack by kilmat its very sticky and comes in sheetsFollow the @cambo thread.
Thanks for the info. I haven't taken the light off yet, as I'm waiting for the second one to arrive next week. The gasket on the new one looks to be pretty beefy and much thicker than the one in your pic, although yours could just be compressed. What did you cover the giant hole in the back with?
It is literally already filed, the court documents are there.Stop already. Nothing will come of it.
